Well the review pretty well says it all . I bought this when we updated our kitchen back in 2005 , and it has been trouble free since . The only problem is noise when the machine spins and that is the wife's fault cos a few years back she chucked in some mats , and when the machine began spinning , these mats crashed and banged against the drum ! Only last week the machine has ceased to take softener , but considering that it has been used 5 times a week or so for the last 8 years , forgivable ! Did not take any warranties ,and bought it from a warehouse that is cheaper than most of the online places and delivery included too !

Bosch Logixx 1600 Express has Bad quality cheap bearings, very noisey and short life compared with prior good experience of this brand. Throwing out on three years average useage compared to 12 years Siemens

Bought this bosch logixx 1600 due to the fact, that other bosch products that I have bought (tools), have lasted and been able to with stand tough use. Like others the machine is used most days and is about 3 years old. Repaired a hole in the door seal (clean with degrease product and apply RTV sealant) which is still holding a year later, but now the bearings make so much noise you can hear the machine about 2 houses away, I have trained appliance repair exp, but the bearings cost £50 and a comp drum with bearings is £160 and door seal is £29. The hotpoint we changed it for was over 25yrs old, and the parts where cheaper. Would think long and hard before replacement with another one.

I purchased a Bosch Washer and Dryer in July of 2004.
In 4 years I've replaced the washer door seal 2X. It now needs to be replaced again. The tub has now failed. According to the certified Bosch service man the tub seal failed a long time ago and slowly came apart and the tub is leaking. Replacement of the tub and spinner assembly will cost 80% of the cost of a new washer. So my $1200 washer lasted a total of 4.5 years.
The dryer started squeaking about 2 years running. It is so loud we can only dry cloths at night.

We have had a Bosch Logixx 1600 for just over 5 1/2 years. I bought it primarily because of the reliability of many other Bosch products I have purchased over the years. I have been exceedingly disappointed by this machine. After 3 years 4 months (just outside warranty) the drum bearing finally ceased up after being extremely noisy for 2 or 3 months. Also by this time the powder draw had stopped dispensing fabric softener. Being a fairly handy person I decided to replace this myself with Bosch parts. The bearing comes moulded into the rear half of the tub. You have to replace the half tub which involves stripping out most of the machine. I replaced this, the powder drawer and various seals. The machine worked fine again - back to its quiet self, though I found the amount of play in the (non-adjustable) bearing a bit disconcerting. After a further 2 years and 3 months, the drum bearing has gone again!
On top of all this the machine has very poor rinsing performance, frequently leaving soap powder in the finished wash.
Contrast this with our old Zanussi machine which washed well and lasted 20 years with no major repairs.

I bought this machine (Bosch Logixx) for my wife 4 years ago, because she gets through an incredible amount of washing on a daily basis & the common belief is that German engineering can stand the test of time. The main drum bearing hummed from day one so I requested they either replace the machine or fix the bearing! Bosch sent a qualified engineer to do that within a couple of days. ever since then the machine has not given any problems whatsoever - despite my taking out an extended 5 year warrenty plan - covering parts & labour. The machine is amazingly quiet on maximum spin speeds as long as it's not overloaded, and has just about every eco & wash setting you could wish for! it still works the way it did 4 years ago & is probably now the best value "expensive" appliance I've ever bought.

This machine should have lasted longer than 3 years. Bosch service did not want to help despite the service agent saying that this was an unusual failure for such a young machine.
So I do not recommend you buy Bosch.
