We love our monty 6. We have now had it for 2 years and we have the front extension which I use as a kitchen/diner. The side porch we use as an ensuite for our camping loo. We camp a lot with friends and can easily fit 8 in around the table for dinner. It has done us proud and happily stood up to 70mph wind and torrential rain for 3 days during our last trip. Sadly our friends we went with had to put their Coleman in the bin on the way home. That weekend we were the envy of the campsite. The... (read more)

Thank God for the Outwell Montana 6, The three of us and the dog went camping in extreme weather last week, not our intention but the winds went up to 50 miles a hour, it was the scariest night of my life. Not a scratch on our tent, where all the other tents around us had all ripped or collapsed. The Montana 6 is very robust great quality tent. Loads of room, I would definitely recommend this tent, but would definitely not recommend camping in high winds. Montana Fan (read more)

Put it up for the first time and well impressed with the size, it was a still day but still could have managed in 45 mins. Did not find any nasty surpises but did find like onother reviewer the porch was difficult to do. The other thing worth mentioning is the other person with me is only 5ft tall and strugled to zip the main door if I had unziped to the top as there is quite an angle so to reach the top is nearly 7ft. I would have liked to know if one person could erect the tent as I may be... (read more)

Tent is great as a design but once you require parts you're right out of luck. Very expensive tent but unfortunately we had a mishap with the outer at just over 1 year old (by 2 weeks). No-one would come back to us and Outwell no longer have the outer tent available to buy. They refuse to respond of give advice of whether the extension will even fit newer models. A waste of £700. I would not buy from Outwell if I'd know that the tent manufacturer cannot supply new outers and simply... (read more)

Took the Montana 6 out for its first use this week for 4 days in North Norfolk. Put it up in a reasonable breeze, initially tricky (remember, this was the first attempt) but got it up in reasonable time. It is great that it pitches all as one, no faffing with groundsheets. The living area is huge, loads of headroom, loads of space. We had 2 adults, 1 three-year-old and a baby in one bedroom, the 'kitchen' in the other. The main bit had 3 chairs, a table and other stuff, still plenty of room.... (read more)

Having spent several months looking at many tents, I finally decided upon Outwell Montana 6 sue to its spacious interior and reviews on the internet.
Also purchased the footprint groundsheet which helps when pitching as you can position it first without having to worry too much about the tent. As part of the searching I came across video footage on you tube that shows a man from Yeomans erecting the tent on hos own. I followed his approach (rather than the outwell suggestions) and erected it...

We love our montana 6, it easily sleeps a family of 5, with room in the central area for a 6 seater table. The carpet is a must as it adds warmth underfoot and reduces the risk of holes in the ground sheet. The sewn in ground sheet makes it dry in wet weather and keeps the wind out. We have to front extension to cook under and use the side entrance to store food, cooking utensils etc. The tent has zip up fly sheets so you can have ventilation with your tent becoming full of insects. It is... (read more)

My Outwell Montana 6 is now in its 4th year of use and I have been more than pleased with it. The layout is ideal giving lots of space inside and good headroom. It is pretty sturdy and has survived a number of scary storms with no problems There are some negatives which are:
You need to buy a front canopy if you dont want to trudge water/mud into the tent (it's a shame it isnt incorporated with the tent)
Don't follow the directions with the tent, do a search on youtube and you will find the...

Outwell Montana 6. Fantastic tent. Will never buy another make. I have struggled for years with other tents, regularly getting soaking wet and being uncomfortable. Last year I decided enough was enough and would never camp again, until I read reviews about Montana 6 and decided to purchase one. I have not been disappointed. This tent is like a palace compared to other tents. Fairly easy to put up. Our first time (2 ladies) took us about an hour, hopefully next time it will be less. 2 adults... (read more)

I love my Montana 6 and have recommended Outwell tents to every other "camper" I have met. I am able to put it up with the help of my 14 year old son with no problems at all, the trick is not to put all the poles in first (as the instructions tell you to) but to put them in one at a time, as you secure each vertical pole which means you are only lifting the weight of the canvas as opposed to the canvas plus poles. I also love the footprint, makes it so much easier and cleaner to put away... (read more)

We are a family of 4 and loved this outwell montana tent from the minute we decided to try camping for the first time, great bargins to be had on e-bay for secondhand. Used first time between bank holidays in April, had one very windy night, the tent was fantastic did'nt budge an inch. Looks fantastic and penlty of room for friends to pop inside tent for a few beers! I have to agree with the pitching very heavy for all 5ft of me, but still managed with 2 of us to pitch within an 1 hour... (read more)

The Outwell Montana 6 is very resistant to condensation. Excellent side porch entry when rain is heavy, meaning no water being brought into the tent. Easily expandable. This tent seems to make little of heavy rain and strong winds compared to other tents I've stayed in. Found a couple of small holes due to manufacture but were easy to repair with the provided repair kit. An all round excellent tent, great value for money. (read more)

The Outwell Montana 6 is not only very easy to erect, and has many extras that are very handy (I.e the interior pockets - superb for keeping keys and cameras) but it is also a very attractive tent. Compared to some on the market, it looks really good as well as being extremely enjoyable to spend time in. We are looking forward to adding the front extension and the kids room next year! We recently spent a VERY wet and windy bank holiday weekend on the Welsh boarder in this tent - our second outing with this gear - the first being last September. We'd forgotten some of the little tricks which make pitching a little slicker (and of course we'd lost the instructions since last season), but still the tent went up (all bar the tweaking) in about 25/30 minutes, complete with footprint groundsheet. Pitching is hard work due to the sheer weight of this tent and its poles, however... (read more)

The Outwell Montana 6 is a brilliant tent. Completely sown-in groundsheet makes it very cosy inside. Clear plastic, tent material and mesh options for the windows means you can have the best of all worlds in terms of light and ventilation. Zips are chunky and robust and the 2 sleeping compartments are a good size. Some nice touches like pouches for storage and a temperature gauge. Really well designed. Fantastic, good value tent which I am sure we will have for years. Dont know who decides... (read more)

The Outwell Montana is easy to put up. The porch floor doesn't seem to fit properly and it is hard to put the tent back in the bag until you learn how to fold it. Spacious and comfortable. Very good tent would recommend others to buy this tent. It is big enough for families and all the holiday equipment. (read more)

The Outwell Montana 6 berth tent is great build and quality.
I know I will get lots of years of use out of this tent. It is easy to put up although you may struggle with just one person.
It has plenty of room and loads of extras, such as a welcome mat, a carpet and even an add on canopy. It is also easy to transport as it comes with a trolley carrier bag and my favourite extra is the temperature gauge.
Overall it is a great tent if you can afford the initial outlay in cost.
