Good Points: It copies well, and quickly. It boots up rather quickly. It prints well and quickly.

Bad Points: It scans, but not wonderfully if you copy isn't perfect. I've an IMac and the ocr packaged with the Brother does NOT do the job at all. It's a joke really I feel. Whatever software they've put in is years and years old, the technology has moved on considerably since then. I was able, after hours of work and and internet download of another ocr software to get copy into editable shape, only to spend more hours for all the words and characters not recognized. When I did some research, I found I could BUY OCR'S written for native Mac, but the prices were from '200 (cheapest) to '599 (dearest). I think if you say it's mac compatible, it should be, all the way through - not nearly, or maybe if you're smarter than the programmers, or if you pay 600 Euros more (the machine only cost '265 for everything including extended warrantee).

General comments: This machine works well in 2 of the 3 advertised areas. The third, scanning is surface. It cannot be turned into editable copy. I wanted this scanner so I wouldn't have to retype documents to have them in the computer - but this definitely does not do the job. Sorry folks. If what you're looking for is a scanner that can be turned into editable text - this is DEFINITELY NOT THE MACHINE. If what you want is a printer, copier - it's good.
