Good Points: Cheap and cheerful for Internet use and general report taking. Plays DVD's and usual tasks quite well.
Bad Points: Memory not up to Vista Home (that it was supplied with) which needed expanding. No audio amp so requires external speakers which work well. When I enquired about lack of sound, Acer informed me that this was a fault. Exchanged the unit and Comet informed me that afterwards that it lacked an amplifier. It also does not perform Bluetooth although fitted components.
General comments: Allowing for the shortcomings described, it is an ideal back-up machine and for business use it is perfectly adequate for a rock bottom laptop. Would I buy this Aspire again? No! I would buy one with a larger memory and pay the extra that it cost me to have it fitted.
The DVD plays well with external speakers and the picture is bright and clear.
