All in all an excellent laptop. One that I would recommend to anyone.
HAving purchased the laptop for my home business, I can honsetly say that it has given me 2 years of trouble free computing.
I use the laptop for many extensive web and graphic development projects and as such the memory capacity has been just right. Sometimes slows down a little, but hey, so would you if you were trying to run 10 different programs at the same time. lol
Good grpahics, great keyboard, but poor sound (add an external sound system.)

to be fair, i've had this puppy for about 3 or 4 years now. i scrapped the vista (which whatever anyone says was not a patch on xp) reformatted the drive, then loaded a new copy of XPsp3 onto my laptop and it has been totally reliable ever since.
it is quick enough and has memory enough, but i have outgrown it and want something more pokey now........
some compatibiity issues with the dvd rw initially, but the only thing that truly sucks is the sound quality - it is awful!

the slowest piece of scrap i have ever had the misfortune to own if you have nay sense do not buy one. Regurarly refuses to connect to the internet for no reason and when is does can wait for ever to opne a site

Every time I try to connect it locks up. Nothing you can do. Mouse doesn't move, neither the keyboard. What to do with a laptop that cannot be connected to the internet? Simply, nothing.
Acer Aspire 5610 is slow and unreliable. It freezes all the time and even not heavy programs take longer to respond than any desktop even 10 years older.
Terrible laptop.

The Aspire 5610 is a very good product for those who would use it for business. It is a very strong laptop and I think it is the right laptop for me. It is a excellent product!

Really simple to use, great software and OS. Also there are great buttons around the keyboard and the screen is excellent

Preloaded and badly installed like every other computer manufacturer
Preloaded software not supplied or available for download
Moan with your pocket if you have a problem with something return it and buy something else in my opinion. Do not recommend Acer Aspire 5610.

This Acer Aspire laptop is a must have for the student on a budget, a hard core gamer or a businessman in need of an upgrade. This computer is not only cheap (now $1300 new) but is loaded with features like a Intel Core Duo 1.86 GHz processor, an nvidia GeForce 7300 graphics card, 1GB of RAM and a 120 GB Hard Drive (reduced by 15 - 20% with vista). It comes with 4 usb ports (2x back + 2x side) a dvd burner and a wireless network card and much more. This computer is so outstanding that I have convinced two university students and a lawyer to buy one, so this is definitely the computer for you.

I had that issue with another laptop I used to own and it was the battery. You can test if the battery has ceased to function correctly by taking it to a battery specialist place, like batteryworld or batteryworks or equivilent. They test it to ensure that it can hold charge and other stuff and depending on what they say, either buy a new battery or look at the computer itself.

I have an Acer Aspire 5610, bought it new and its a year old. I have always ran it off the mains with the battery inserted. However, last week, the battery icon on the machine was almost empty and red, it then went into hibernation and now I cant use it. It comes on for one second and then goes off again. Any advice would appreciated. Do I buy a new battery, or is it the laptop itself that is at fault?
