Good Points: Good value for money. Small but large enough for a 5 berth. Better suited to a 4 berth and not using the bunk above the rear bed. even better for a couple and used as a fixed bed. Interior has not dated even though the van is 13 years old. No access lockers from the outside so no leaks! Nice blinds on the windows. Rear area can be closed off during the day and you feel that you are in a different van. No stupid modern gas regulator in the front locker (you know the type. The ones that gum up and stop working as soon as you are on site) so you just use the old type that ' s on the bottle and never cause any problems.(NOW YOU SEE WHY I LIKE THIS OLD VAN).
Bad Points: The grill has no PIEZO ignition so you have to light it using a lighter set but there again that means that the piezo ignition can't break down so its not a bad idea after all.
General comments: Briliant Van and not outdated even by today's standards.
Quick fit table that fits onto the front locker is a dream and so easy to use. A very good user friendly family Van.

The Crown Sceptre is good value for money, light, up to date interior, nice long front seats on both sides unlike a lot of todays new vans, rear seating area can be made into a permanent bed and can be closed off if required. Same style of van today would cost £12000 new!... You should be able to pick up a good well looked after Crown Scepter for £3500 or less.

For an 1995 van I don ' t think you could beat the layout, its family friendly and the seats at the front are long enough to stretch out on and indeed I have fallen asleep there on a numerous ocassions. Couldn't have done that in the 2007 Bailey which we just sold basically for that very reason, it's also better that the 2006 Abbey that we had before the Bailey, The seats in the front of that were ion the short side as well. You may be wondering why I would want to get rid of a new van and go ba ...

Compared to lots of vans that I looked at in the £4K range, the Crown Scepter has so far appeared to be excellent value for money. The standard of the fixtures and fittings are pretty good and is carries its age well. My one has had a new carpet fitted and the seats have been professionally re-covered. However, everything else is standard and in very good condition. Have just sent two weeks touring in Scotland and my partner and I have found the van extremely comfortable and spacious.
