I got it from a Guy that did not want his Wife to get her hands on it in a upcomeing Divorce, for 4,000 in 2004 it was like new. I drove it in the summer over the years and in 2009 drove it to Florida and killed the engine, so I put in a Twin Turbo engine and other things (500hp).The car is so timeless, powerfull it can make you fell like Superman and the best thing people move out of your way even the MAN some times, but the best is going a year and not seeing a person driveing a car like yours....

I bought this car when I eventually found out what the bloody thing was called!!!! I used to see these cars every now and then as they're so rare, but never knew what the car was. Luckily,I saw one parked up and took all the details that I could and then reviewed it. Nissan Fairlady 300zx?..........Never heard of one! All I knew was,I wanted one! The nissan 300zx twin turbo is one of the greatest and affordable sports cars ever made. In my opiniion it looks much better than a rx7, more aggressive than a Supra but equally fast. The sound of the 3.0l, v6 twin turbo sounds amazing and heads alway turns. My one is a 1993 300zx twin turbo, it is so fast 0-60: 5.2secs, no modification has been done and completely original. I had no trouble beating a Supra twin turbo, because it depends on the driver because the stats are so similar. Don't buy...

I have owned a '90 Nissan 300ZX turbo since 4/'92. It's white/red leather int. Has only 63.3 k miles and I've driven all but 1st 6k. Has been the greatest car I've ever owned. Stored every winter, it's never had any snow, salt, very little rain. Driven in summers only, maybe 1500-3000 miles/yr. Only repair ever done is replaced water pump, timing belts, fan belts, thermostat. That's it. Except for 17" whls, and lowered, it's completely stock looking. This is value for those looking for a timeless...

I own a 93 UK twin turbo in bright red. I don't even want to compare it with any other car as I consider it the best from each and every point. This is a car that ticks all the boxes for a true performance car. It has its aggressive sporty looks which even after 15 years are better than any new sports car. Mine is now running at 550 bhp and is a monster. Me after spending £5k on engine was thinking whether its worth it or not, I have got the answer after driving it - YES, it was worth every...

With just the basic care the Nissan 300ZX will last and run well for a long time. The sound of the engine winding up then down is pure music to the ears, especially on the open highways where these cars seem to thrive like race horses let loose. I have 147,000 miles on my 93 TT, which just underwent a $12,000 dollar drive train suspension and brake upgrade, now it performs like it was really meant to do over 400HP. More upgrades are in it's future, plus eventually a kit and its final paint job....

I can't decide which car to buy a 1992-1996 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo or a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000Gt Twin Turbo/VR-4. I researched both cars really hard but I can't just not decide. 300zx is a very nice car put I just don't like the fact that the speedo says 160MPH and the 3000Gt spedo says 180MPH. I would like to now what car would be best, which car would win in a drag race a long race or basically which car is faster the zx is much more expensive put the 3000gt is not. I could buy both but I only would want to buy one, if I buy both I might as well buy a 05 Corvette 400HP that goes 190-240MPH.

I own a 300zx and I personally like the Z over the 3000gt for the simple fact that it is more of a unique car and I don't think there are as many 3000gt enthusiasts out there... If you are looking for speed only and don't care about cost I would buy a Corvette z06... those cars are very fast and you get the most for your $. If your looking for something fast and reliable for the money the Z is the only way to go.

Your 300zx may be a little quick, but my supercharged Robin Reliant will thrash it!! I have had a £30 respray done to it, a one off Yellow with pink go faster stripes. I made the exhaust with my own bare hands out of bog roll and sticky back plastic. A pink steering wheel to go with the stripes and furry dice. Under the bonnet theres a whopping 850cc reliant engine that only takes half an hour to reach 60mph. Its a rocket on three wheels. The chicks love it, a true supercar.

Let me start this off by saying have a 1990 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo. Very fast car for a street legal. It sticks on dry pavements, cornering at 40-50 mph. Upgrading it is very fun and the turbos with BOV sounds like trucks. The sound system is easily upgradable. The side mount intercoolers do an awesome job. Very well built and organized.

to sum it all up.. sometimes i feel bad spending all this money on it, but when I drive it those late nights when I cant sleep.. I fall in love with it...

The Nissan ZX TT is an outstanding value for money car, offering supercar performance for hatchback money. Its got a really solid engine and drivetrain built to take a lot more power. The stock suspension set-up is good with crisp turn in and lots of grip. It can be a bit of a handful in the wet, especially when trying to drive fast. Interior is functional but a bit boring. I have a 1990 twin turbo Fairlady that I have bought off my son, the motor has been replaced, new turbos and transmission, tyres and body kit, professionally lowered. I love the style, the interior, certainly looks better inside than most other sports cars.
The car is back in the workshop, trying to get the boost to work properly, and have the heads off trying to find the lack of compression on one side. In the mean time I must perservere with my non turbo beautifully newly painted GTO Mitsi. Can anyone tell me what the boost should be, and the oil pressure, please?
We are in summer in NZ now, and to cruise around with the top off is something else again.

A real contender with the supra but for half the cost. 300zx's are one of the three real japanese sports cars. They are fast yet reliable for 300hp. As former rx7 owner and a current 300zxtt owner i resent that. The rx7 is a unreliable, miata looking pos. the only reason the rx7 is so popular is because of the "fast and furious". However I will agree that the ZX is not quite up there with the Supra. no particular comment on the Nsx besides that it is over priced due to is exotic shape.

The RX-7 can..if driven properly..blow the ZX away. it's all power to weight you see. A 2 litre (approx) Wankel rotary engine wieghs in at under half that of a 3ltr twin turbo, couple that to a lighter subframe and the RX-7 has a kerb weight of 1310kg and 280 BHP (on the RS model) versus 1490kg and about the same power output.

This translates to published 0-62s of:

RX7 Type RS 5.1 seconds

300zx Twin Turbo 5.96 seconds

The standard Mk 3 RX7 is slightly slower than the 300zxtt BUT is massivly faster than the normally aspirated 300zx.

So there. RX7 is faster...and not just in crud films.

sorry buddy you're wrong....i love and have both cars, the 300zxtt has virtually equal specifications with exception of curb weight an power... that's 255bhp and 220 lb ft for the rx-7tt and 300bhp and 280 lb ft for the 300zxtt and as far as power to weight ratios.....the rx-7 has a much better p/w ratio than the zxtt, but...the zxtt still gets the job done despite being significantly heavier...and as far as 0-60 times....both are 5.1....but the z's quarter mile is .1-2seconds faster (give or take a few given different conditions)that's 14 flat for the rx-7 and 13.9 for the 300zx...both of the cars are electronically limited to 159 mph also.....and both are faster than the nsx.....the nsx has 270hp and 210lbft, 0-60 is 5.6-5.8 but the top speed is electronically limited to 168...and as far as the supra....that is the fastest...320hp and 315 lb ft....o-60 at 4.9 seconds......all in all the zx is the most underrated and thus the cheapest...almost always under 11g's...on ebay...and on the contrary the most expensive...by far....and the slowest is the nsx................bottom line.....there is no reason to lie about the specs of different cars...they are what they are...and that's not your fault, so dont get all bent out of shape over the one you like most....just make sure you modify your own to your desired specs.....

rx-7s are a little faster stock 0-60 than a z, but quarter-mile time on a stock z is about 13.8. The first time I ran my z (only time it was stock) I got a 14 flat at about 103 at the trap. That was a 93 300zx with all stock componentsand 88,000miles (same clutch it had when it rolled of the assembly.) Let's see an rx-7 do that, if its still starts by 88,000miles without being rebuilt 3 times.

Racemaz's response to 43251_Akira.'s Review

I don't agree with the guy was saying that the RX-7 is a faster car. Car and Driver hit 5.0 flat 0-60 with the 91 Z TT, check out the magazine, you can find it online. The RX-7 is an awesome ride, but it's a coke can on wheels, it has no durability, and the engine's capability to handle additional power is utterly pathetic, the STOCK turbos are known to blow out after 60K miles. I'd take a Z twin turbo any day, I smoke RX-7's all the time in mine, and the Surpa will just barely outdrag a Z, by maybe .1 seconds if at all. I think the fastest stock supra 0-60 time I saw was 4.9 seconds. Either way, Nissan is the best Japanese racing brand in the world, Mazda and Toyota are good, but not as good as Nissan. Go up against a Skyline and your bum is grass.
93+ RX7............Super stock
93+ supra Turbo....A stock.
NSX................A stock.
90 300zx Turbo.....B stock.

The 1300cc rotary engine does not have all the moving parts of a piston engien. So it spins much faster, it\'s lighter and mounted far back in the chassis making the rx7 balanced 50/50. I own a 87 rx7 and while its not very fast in a straight line. It\'s untouchable through turns.
