Good Points: 1 - Sublime customer service. The staff at Lancaster Honda we're nothing less than friendly, polite and had a possitive attitude. 2 - Makes an effort After being let down by a dealer in late December 2005, I took my customs to Lancaster Honda. They made a real effort to get me on the road and despite the time of year I was extremely happy with how they handled everything quickly and efficiently. I brought my bike on the 30th December, 3 days later I was riding out a proud owner of a Honda. 3) Excellent communication. When enquiring about their stock they let us know they had bikes in stock in our price range and invited us down. Once we purchased the bike they kept us informed of everything that was happening and when exactly we could come and collect. 4) Great selection. Although I was new to biking and was only looking for a scooter, I noticed they had a huge selection of bikes from minimotos to the Gold Wing. I've gone down several times since to see what they have in stock since I'm interested in upgrading and there's everything. 5) Trusting staff When I took my scooter in for a service I went to collect and pay by card, when my card refused to work they gave me my scooter to go down to the nearest ASDA which was pretty much a 10 minute walk. My card was rejected at the cash machine and so they let me go down to my bank on my scooter which explained everything. I felt trusted during the whole time. 6) Full selection of accessories. Everything was avalable from the dealer, bike accessories such as stickers, L plates, top boxes, saddle bags and so on were avalable as well as a huge range of helmets, leathers, gloves and the likes and all for a very good price. 7) Excellent knowledge You could shoot questions at them all day, they would answer them to a superb level and research made on the questions via internet was found to have all been truthful answers. 8) Avalability New and second hand bikes were all avalable at location, I purchased my scooter pre registered to Honda who had attacked a back rack and a wind screen, there was 8 miles on the clock and I purchased it for £50 less than what a brand new scooter would cost. Considering it had not been used and had accessories come with there was nothing I could complain about as I was practically purchasing a brand new scooter. 9) Location The location is not hard to find, it's in an industrial area right next to a main road. The dealer is fairly large and has two different buildings, one completely for motorbikes, the other, yes, you guessed it, cars. 10) Test drive The dealer offers test driving and test riding, I have not yet test rode a bike or a car for that fact so I can not comment on the quality of service. However when asking for a test sit I was more than satisfied with the explaining I had when sat on the different models I understood everything they had to say and I'm no expert on bikes.
Bad Points: I'm saddened to say I found one bad point with this dealer. Their coffee is awful! However since it was free I think it can be forgiven... Just.
General comments: Reaching my 17th birthday I was suddently thrown into biking after much anticipation and excitement of being able to commence driving lessons. I went to a local dealer to purchase a scooter, this being a Speed Fight 2 in blue. Since I was 16 still I could not ride this bike for a month as it is a 125cc scooter so I booked the scooter ready for collection dead on my birthday on 31st December which they said they'd have ready. We got a letter about a week after booking the scooter saying Peugeot had discontinued the Speed Fight in blue and let us know of which colours were avalable which we instantly followed up upon and left a message on the answer machine to let them know which colour we wanted.
So the month went past and we'd heard nothing back from them... well until 3 days before the collection date where they sent a letter telling us we'd not replied to their letter and had a yellow bike in stock when we wanted a red one. We were sickened by this and when we enquired about why they'd heard nothing back we got excuses after excuses, the answer machine had broke, the fax machine had broke, the computers were faulty, the toaster had broke and so on. We cancelled the bike as we were disgusted by the way we had been treat.
After this we looked around for more dealers and come the end of the same day after cancelling the bike in the morning we were happily awaiting our Honda SCV100 Lead after excellent customer service which continued throughout the three days and long after the collection date. They kept in touch by asking us how the bike is going and if we'd have any problems to go down. I was beginning to get worried at one stage thinking they were stalking us.
Now extremely satisfied with their knowledge and communication I'm ready to sell my Lead and move onto a VT125c Shadow which I will once again purchase brand new and from the same dealer.
If you live in the Lancaster and Morecambe area and you're looking for reliability, trust, respect... the perfect dealer then I'd strongly recommend Lancaster Honda. There's no alternative.
I hope you found this review helpful and useful, if you have any questions please leave a comment and I'll reply as quickly as possible.
