Mike Mooney, The Griffith years is an absorbing read for aficionados of the great cars of the sixties. Insightful commentary on the events leading up to one of the more unusual and little known cars of the era. This book is a must own for the collections of car nuts.

Mike did a wonderful Job of capturing the excitement of those years. He did a very good job finding the many people who put this vehicle
together.

The book takes you from the infancy of the car to its final days, good points and bad, with knowledge and humor. Also, it points out how even a good idea in the business world can fail if the right people aren't involved at the key positions. I had the pleasure of riding in one of these fantastic cars and they are everything the book claims they are.

Mooney is obviously a true believer. His exposure to the cars and to some of the principals, including the great Mark Donohue, has given him a special insight into understanding the passion that went into the creation of this unique muscle car.

He took the mild mannered and lightweight four-cylinder TVR Grantura Mk. 3, fitted it with a potent 4.7 liter V-8 Ford high performance engine and named it, appropriately, the Griffith. Mike Mooney, who worked as one of the three factory test drivers along with Mark Donohue and Len Bailey, has documented the history of this unusual hybrid shavetail.
