be aware they change the equipment but dont hold stock of spares so after a short time you cant get it fixed & they will offer you a pathetic 10% off a new one. (read more)

I am reading all these awful reviews about Ebac dehumidifiers and obviously you cant all be wrong, but my experience with them is totally different and would not consider buying any other make. The first one my parents bought in 1976 when they were first manufactured. This ugly monstrosity is still.... 36 years on working perfectly. It has been used continuously, not stored away for a time. The EBAC 2650E Model is by far the best Dehumidifier I have ever purchased, it even has a self cut out device, which is extremely useful. Living next to a River, our house gets flooded at least twice a year, and we have always struggled to find a reliable and cost effective solution for drying out our Kitchen and hall way area of our house. “Product not bad, Customer service awful”

Had the product for 3 months and have to say it's not bad in terms of operation, shuts off when it should and is pretty quiet. However, when it came to ordering new filters, the customer service and delivery times from ebac are laugable. It says on their website, orders despatched within 24 hours. A week later my filters were despatched! It then says, after despatch to allow 3-4 days delivery - 2 weeks later my filters arrived! Throughout this time, i emailed customer service who sent a... having had ebac dehumidifiers(eight in total) over the last twenty five years i felt patriotic supporting british industry. i always have two running, one in my house and the second in my machine shop, condensation and machine tools make very incompatable bedfellows. the fist three pairs i could not fault their reliability and when replaced were passed on to family and friends i believe some are still functioning perfectly.however the last pair, both failed within six months after the twelve... This has the looks of being a good dehumidifier, if it wasnt completly rubbish. Ebac cannot repair it worth a light, it has now failed to performm as advertised on 5 occasions and is currently with them for the 6th time.Its only 14monthe old. The warranty has to be 5 years, one with you and 4 years back at ebac!!!
Was conned into thinking that buying british would be a good idea.
Never again.
Dont buy this, the collection driver tells me that ebac have a 7.5 ton wagon load returning to them...

I purchased my Ebac 2650e after finding condensation running down the bedroom windows, I was unsure which model to buy from the shop where I purchased but remembered my parents having an Ebac when I was at home so went for the model that suited my home.
Could'nt believe the difference it makes and the landing area feels much warmer when it has been running, still unsure how it collects so much water. My only disapointment was that after visiting Ebacs website(www.ebac.com)to buy replacement...

Having inherited an old style Ebac some time ago I thought it was about time that I came into the 21st century. The friendly customer service team were happy to answer all my questions and help me choose the most appropriate model. I was very pleased that the unit came with a free 5 year warranty as purchased directly from Ebac. Using the Smart Control setting is so simple - it's a one touch operation. Unit failed to recover water after a few weeks use.
Returned to Ebac for repair, not sure why a replacement would have been more apropriate for a unit failing so soon.
Returned after 8 days repaired????
Noticed large wet puddle under unit after two days and on inspection discovered the lower case to be damaged.
Currently waiting yet another return to Ebac.
So far in last 4 months I have had 2 -3 weeks actual use.
So if considering Ebac I would think again.
From my experience I can not...

Have been using a 2650e for almost a year now and I can't believe the difference it makes. We keep it in our conservatory which we were about to replace (its an old wooden framed one that often leaks in).
Since we've started using this dehumidifier though, we've not had any leaks and I think its because the wooden frame doesn't get saturated. We certainly have no condensation problems any more.
I was a little concerned that it may be noisy after reading some reviews but it's not a problem...

Ebac 2650e - We bought this because of a condensation problem in our bedroom after a new bed had been purchased. It cleared it up immediately. Very quiet on the low setting but a bit noisier on automatic, although you soon get used to it. We don't have the radiator on in the bedroom but this just throws enough heat out for it not to be too uncomfortable. The only thing I am not happy with is the fact that we get regular power cuts and it knocks the memory out straight away so for another... (read more)

Had my 2650e since nov09. The front unit went with a bang. Arranged a pickup date between 8am and 6pm and it was collected at 18.05pm. The problem was it didn't reach the ebac depot and city link, their currier company, say they have no evidence it was ever collected by them even though it was sighned for by electronic signature pad! hmmm??? We've had our unit for two years and it has worked faultlessly. We run it continuously during the winter months, it's quiet and effective and the only chore is emptying the water container every day or so.
It doesn't come with a drain hose or castors as standard and the filters are disposable rather than washable (which would be better for the wallet and environment) but all in all a great buy.

We are very pleased with our Ebac Dehumidifier 2650e- it has superceded an industrial one we recently hired (and promptly returned as it was pathetic in comparison) to help it suck up very damp floors after a major long term underfloor leak in the kitchen. It has constantly worked 24/7 for the last 4 weeks on max and our floor is really looking like recovering. No problems whatsoever with the Ebac 2650e, it's worked perfectly for the go. Very simple to use and very reliable, I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
We had very bad humidity levels before we bought this product resulting in some heavy mould spore growth, but one we got this running, within two weeks the mould problem had gone and it hasn't returned since - very happy especially since my wife was pregnant!!

When working correctly worked well let down by an unreliable product.
Staff polite and helpfull,arranged fast free collection and return.

Ebac 2650e.
We've had this 2650e running for over two years without complaint. It pays not to leave it dormant even during the summer. The Smart controls are Okay I guess but I like to have some degree of manual overide or input. The toggle selection method is bit irksome but we just now leave it oto it's own devices. On average the cannister needs emptying about every six days +/-.
Currently the air has to work its way around the back of the unit and in our hallway is tad awkward to suck...

This is my third Ebac dehumidifier to have failed - the fan motor bearings seem to seize up and other faults also develop. The components do not seem appropriately matched to sustained but reasonable use. I will not buy another Ebac product. (read more)

Within 2 years and not running my Ebac unit over summer months...I am now about to send it back for repair for the 4th time! ...same problems ...overheating and stopped collecting water....yes it works like a charm for the first couple of months ...then it starts to get louder with its hum, after that the real problem start...I've asked EBAC for a complete replacement now considering it's the 4th occasion it has broken down ...they refused and only offered yet another repair within it's... Bought my Ebac 2650e just over a year ago, it worked OK until just recently when it started Juddering sometimes quite alarmingly. It seemed also to be overheating and seemed to be icing up rather too much on the coils. It has been sent back to Ebac and I am still waiting for it to come back. I have to admit that I am a little worried about using this model as it doesn't seem to be very reliable and the overheating etc could be a problem! I bought this 3 months ago and am amazed at the amount of water it takes out of the air. I have to empty it every day. I dont find it particulary noisy but probably depends on what level of noise bothers you. I have it on all night in the hallway with all doors ajar and can sleep okay. I amd pleased with this buy and would have no problem recommending it. Only downfall instruction manual could be better. (read more)

I brought my Ebac 2650e in February 2009 in April the smart control failed to work resulting in water damage to my carpet. Ebac customer services were indeed polite and the unit was picked up. I was told there was nothing wrong with it, but when it was returned they had replaced the timer switch. Less than 2 months later exactly the same thing has happened again. I have asked for my money back but they are refusing as I am out of the 30 day period. (read more)

I have a very old Ebac 2200e unit which has been running for several years and has been great.
Had high hopes when I bought a 2650e - it worked well for around 18 months, leaked refrigerant and was scrapped.
Ordered a new one. First out of the box wasn't working. Ebac replaced. Second also wasn't working. Ebac replaced. Third arrived - worked great for around 18 months, before leaking refrigerant and failed.

For me The Ebac 2650e has been good value for money. It certainly has done the job I bought it for. I've had mine for 6 months and so far no sign of reliability problems. I'm happy with mine but would definitely mention its quirks if recommending to a friend. Removes loads of moisture from the air, a very noticeable difference in winter with regards to condensation on the windows. (read more)

My Ebac 2650e removes a lot of water and its smart control works well. I have been using it for 5weeks so far and would highly recommend it. On full power it sounds qute noisey a bit like a fan heater on high but this setting can be used in empty rooms if it is annoying. Instructions could be better regarding yellow fan lights for cleaning air through the carbon filter etc. but if you read it 2 or 3 times it does make sense (read more)

There are better dehumidifiers on the market that are quieter and more reliable than the Ebac 2650e. I give it that it is easy to use the machine and it looks good, but the noise and the unreliability let it down in a major way for me. (read more)

I'm on my second Ebac 2650e as the first one just stopped working within 5 months of purchase and Ebac collected it and returned it with the same fault so I asked for a new replacement. They gave me a new one and that has now literally gone pop with smoke out of the front grill and I have only had it 6 weeks! Staff at the company are polite and helpful but the product is very worrying. (read more)
