    I have a cat who developed a thyroid condition, my claims have always been delt with very quickly. I have always found customer service to be very helpful.

    If you want a nightmare trying to get pet insurance the RSPCA is the one to chose!!!!!!!! From the start nothing went right in the process of setting up the insurance, not on the internet and not on the telephone, when I finally got the policy documents it was to discover that my 10 year old cat had been insured as a 75 year old DOG, just a example of the many many errors made by what I can only call incompetent staff members.     My pet died 13th May. Insurance cover started Feb 2009. RSPCA Pet Insurance have deducted the rest of the twelve months from the settlement figure. I'm disgusted at this.

    My RSPCA Pet Insurance policy was underwritten by AXA and excludes a fair number of breeds altogether. They also operate a "selected breeds" system, this means that certain breeds pay a much higher premium than others. These are amongst others Great Danes, Greyhounds, Pyrenese Mountain Dogs and St Bernards. (Premium for a 3 year old Greyhound, depending on post code, around £500.00).
