Good Points: Sound & picture good at first.
Bad Points: Very selective when it comes to playing back vcd, dvd etc. My 18 month old 1930 has recently developed a fault around track 18. The mechanism jams with a groaning noise and has to be forwarded to track 19 or 20 to continue. I have complained to Denon UK and await response.
General comments: My preference is for stereo music videos from rock to opera and clasical. Pared with a NAD amp and ProAc speakers. To begin with I was very pleased with the machine and the quality is still good when it is working. Unfortunately the number of disks which it could handle diminished over the months.

Overall, I believe the Denon DVD-1930 is a waste of money. If the functions are not complicated enough they simply collapse. Even simple dvd recording is littered with "error messages". If you get this you will NEED to have the manual around all the time. Nothing is as simple as it looks or should be.
It is so bad if i had not bought it from a reputable dealer i would think it was a fake model, but it is simply bad.
If i were you I'd try another unit, I wish I had.
