    Good Points: sharp
    16-35mm equivalent for digital
    not fisheye

Bad Points: only available on EF-S mounts ie not full frame

General comments: Borrowed this Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens from a friend and tried it on my Canon 40D which is one of the Canon cameras that does accept the EF-S format of lens.
Please note: this will not fit on the full frame Digital cameras such as the 5D, the 1D variants etc - reason is, the lens contracts reach further back into the body and "WILL" damage these cameras !
First thing to say is that the 10-20mm lens is equivalent to 16-35mm in full frame format (ie on APS-C camera bodies). There is almost no barrel distortion or pin cushioning noticed during the few days I had this camera taking photos of buildings in the city centre. The sharpness was also a huge surprise and very sharp centre with fall off towards the edges as I would expect.
Using the lens wide open will display pretty strong vignetting but this could be used for or against the images you take. Stopping down reduces this but it is still noticeable at 10mm.
Chromatic aberration is noticeable also at 10mm but only in high contrast scenes.
Filter size is 77mm so filters tend to be a little on the expensive side. However, if you have the 24-70mm lens you can always swap the circular polarisers between them and keep a cheaper UV filter on for lens protection.
USM (Ultra Sonic Motor) focussing is fast and near silent and pretty accurate.
Overall, I do like this lens a lot, while it is not fisheye, you can still obtain some weird portrait photos at 10mm shooting very close. Either that or it is just my friends that look funny !
Only downside is that it is available for APS-C sensor Canon cameras only and the usual Canon trait that you have to buy the plastic lens hood separately. I wish Canon would not do that !
