I had exactly the same problem as others reviewing here, I put my machine on a 90 degree wash, it steamed and destroyed my entire kitchen. I am holding to speak with the manufacturer as I type this but there is obviously a fault with this machine that Indesit need to react to. I also noticed that the machine has been discontinued with speaks volumes. (read more)

I rent and inherited this machine as part of the property. From day 1 all we have had is problems. The machine smelled of musk and mould and all things positively unclean. So we attempted a service wash on 90 as instructed in the manual and the thing started boiling the water in the drum and steaming the entire kitchen up as if we were frying a whole bottle of oil in the pan on high heat. Engineer called immediately (luckily we hadnt left the house as we would have with our previous... (read more)

Returned home to find my kitchen full of steam as it was puthering from the machine! Pressed the button to turn it off and the front of the machine caved in as it had melted!! It also melted the worktop and the integrated cupboard door had bubbled! I don't expect equipment to last a lifetime but I expect my money's worth & a safety cut off point - it could have burnt my house down! Trading standards have recorded it & they called me back as they were concerned at the safety of it. They said... (read more)

I know you posted this years ago, but I am so infuriated with this machine and it looks like you understand! Our entire kitchen was full of steam as if someone was frying a bottle of oil in a pan, the drum had no chrome left on it, just burn marks, the clothes were ruined and this was just the final problem!
Previously we had heating parts repaired, thermostats etc etc while our clothes continued to smell stale after hours of washing, the water didnt drain completely from the detergent drawer or the drum, the drying feature never worked and we couldnt wash anything above 40c or the clothes looked like they had been squashed to the size or a 2 pence piece and as and when it felt like it it would go through all the settings doing none of them and you had to leave it for 24 hours to start all over again.
Finally we were told it was the 'brain' of the machine and the electronics were gone. I live in rented accommodation and have used this dangerous machine since we moved in a year ago. I dont know how long the landlord has had it but when I was told it was a fire risk I couldnt believe Indesit could be so careless.
My landlord isnow replacing the machine after risking not only his house but our lives with a BEKO. I just hope this one is safe.....

This is the worst machine I've ever owned. Instead of drying the clothes, it boils them, leaving everything creased. The machine breaks down frequently. Last time, it overheated, steaming the entire bathroom. It also takes forever to do one load of laundry. I would not recommend this machine to anyone. (read more)

Unbelievably bad piece of c**p. I have no idea how this passes the fair trading act as it is not fit for purpose and WILL bring down frequently until the warrenty is out. worthless machine, replaced it with a Bosch rather than waste another day trying to get it fixed.
Oh, washing quality is very poor (does not clean clothes properly), slow yadda yadda. This product has no redeeming factors and is not worth free given the amount of damaged clothes it will cause. Worst. Product. Ever.

Bought the (built-in) machine from Comet in April 08, delivered in July. Because of other building work it was not intalled until April 1st 09. Failed in October (bearings burned out). Comet not interested in servicing it and claimed not to do repairs. Local engineer said it was totally unacceptable after such low use. Unfortunately I have bought another as part of a second kitchen to renovate a flat. Will not be buying the brand again - but (alas) apparently Hotpoint is now Indesit with a... (read more)

A month into using this new Indesit WD 12 X washer dryer machine it started playing up! The dial keeps clicking around non stop! If I could I would AVOID at all costs, this is just utter rubbish! I cannot believe that after only months I will probably already have to look at replacing, it's still brand new to me! (read more)

Avoid at all costs. Takes over 2 hours to wash at 40 degrees, then to dry it takes over 2 and half hours on half load and items come out boiling hot, damp and so creased they look like they've been screwed up in a ball. We've had ours for 3 weeks and it is the worst machine I have ever used. Indesit engineer came out and said "oh no, it's one of those"! (read more)

My Indesit WD12x has burnt through the hot water feed pipe. I put on washer on a 90 wash for the 2nd time only - I returned home after 2-3hrs to a totally steamed kitchen and I mean steamed (sauna) and a half steamed Cat. 6-10 inch of water from the washer in my cellar I am now on my 3rd week drying out (thanks to my Halifax insurance). I contacted comet they did not want to know I contacted Indesit - after a FULL day of phone calls I called Trading Standards - who informed me I should go... (read more)

I bought the appliance from Comet. Indesit will not service their own appliances if they are bought from Comet. And, then Comet cancelled their engineer to come and look at it, refused to take it back for a refund as it was not in the original packaging (albeit Comet pride themselves on removing the packaging as part of their delivery process), and then refused to refund me until an engineer inspected the machine, when they would then organise it to be collected at a time that suited them. 3...
