What can I asy, this item has a myriad of options to make it a flexible piece of motoring equipment. On its own it is a good sized platform for moving dirty items without having to clean the car after, add the bike-rack/basket orr lockable bag and who knows the possibilities that open up. Not sure of the actual weight limit for it as the documentation says it is 15kg and you can add 60kg to it being mindful of the towball limit, this implies that if the cycle rack option is taken the bikes... not sure how to edit a review previously submitted, so here is an update.
The unit as supplied comes with a 7 pin plug so if like myself you have current 13 pin plug then an adaptor is required; there is also no rear fog light built into the clusters, which would be handy considering how far it sticks out from the back of the car. Not really what I expected for a \"new\" device from a brand like Thule but maybe these things will be fixed soon as it would be simple to do>

I have had my EasyBase for a while and use it with both a Thule back box and with cycle carriers. Very stable - absolutely no wobble even when heavily laden - and perfect for carrying bikes without risk of straps and hooks that are found on a lot of cycle racks damaging your paintwork. I can even access the boot on my car (boot, not tailgate) with the EasyBase attached to the car, loaded with three adult bikes. “Thoroughly recommend this product...we bought one to...”

Thoroughly recommend this product...we bought one to carry suitcases when our family of 6 go on holiday. We find it perfect. We carry 3 or 4 cases, at the airport or hotel the system is easy to unattach and stores away in the car. Certainly no wobbles have been noticed, feels reallt secure. (read more)

Let's get one thing straight The EasyBase 949 platform absolutely, cegorically does not "wobble". Attached correctly (as any tow ball device must be) it is rock solid. Mine is used with a Thule Backup 900 cargo box which usually has 50-60kg of stuff in it - but whether "loaded" or not the base's tow ball attachment does not move a millimetre.I have used Thule products for nearly 20 years and still use the very first roof box I bought back then.

The Thule EasyBase 949 Bar Carrier is a towbar carrier I've used in the past to help transport extra kit around. It is a nicer alternative to trailers, but it can wobble and this can be felt throughout the car! (read more)
