    Good Points: Price

Bad Points: Poor reliability, poor drying, doesn't wash properly.

General comments: Had our Ariston Technologies AWD12 for about 5 years now. Has had drum and other innards completely changed twice. Now it has gone again and I won't be bothering to get it fixed.

Up to this point it did still dry although less and less as has been mentioned. The knobs have broken, again as other people have mentioned.

Another thing I found annoying was its water saving programmes using the minimum of water mean quite often it doesn't wash properly. Sometimes I have found clothes coming out with dry patches on. You can't disable this feature and I resorted to adding extra water to most washes just to make sure clothes were cleaned properly.

I would not consider buying this machine.

We had an Ariston previously and it gave good service with no problems for over 12 years, due to its age when it developed a problem we decided to replace it. We decided to stay with an Ariston because of the good service life we had had from the previous machine so we replaced it with a Margherita 2000 AWD112 in February 2004. Towards the end of 2005 the control knobs started to break up, as parts were under guarantee we contacted the service dept. it would cost £90.00 call out fee/labo ...

Claims to dry up to 4kgs, but after one year, the amount it would dry got less and less. Now my Ariston technologies AWD12 washer dryer doesn't dry anything. Service agents just say that's the way it is. Also, only one programme now works.

It is unreliable, and it doesn't dry anything once the machine a year old or so. Over complicated construction means agents don't know how to repair it.

My Ariston Technologies AWD12 seems to work well. solidly built. No problems after around 3 years owned. It does have quite a noisy pump though.

I have had the Ariston AWD12 washer dryer for just over two years, and in that time I have had a total of 6 visits, and it is still not working. I am writing a letter today to Coverplan, the alleged repair centre, after I had an engineer in yesterday who could not find a fault with the machine! The fault is that it doesn't work! As he left he said if it doesn't work call the call centre again and order these parts (quoting numbers). The seventh visit will be next week. I would not recommend ...

Bought the Ariston Technologies AWD12 because it came with 5 year warranty, so I thought "it must be reliable". How wrong I was! Bearing and drum cradle shattered within first year...3 week repair! Then main circuit board blew up in the third year...2 week repair! Now the bearing, drum cradle, outer drum etc etc have all shattered in this 4th year, and are being repaired as I write this. I don't expect it to last long after the warranty runs out. I'll be happy when I'm rid of it. It takes half a ...

Have a 2.5 year old Ariston machine and have had nothing but bother. Paid £280. After 2 years bearings went got these repaired and 6 months later the same problem has occured. Independent engineers will not even consider repairing it, or the ones that will are quoting such a price that it would be better to just but a new washing machine which unfortunately I am having to do. So one word about my Ariston machine CRAP!
