My family and I every year kick off our Christmas celebrations with the very under rated Carol Service at Manchester Cathedral. Where this beautiful building provides a wonderful backdrop for Christmas cheer, and reminds you of how good you have it. It is suited for all ages although it is very rare that you see younger children there (other than my own). Tickets go on sale around late September to early November although you can still get them on the door on the evening. The cost is under £10 but for a chance to follow tradition and feel part of the community with an old fashion carol sing along then this can't be beaten.
