When I first signed up for Facebook, I didn't know what to expect. I quickly learned that to get the most out of this site, you need a lot of friends to be also on the site. Missing functions + confusing with like pages, fan groups and profiles - people use it differently and it makes a lot of mess. I don't understand what the appeal is with facebook? To be perfectly honest i'd hate to have a facebook account. I did have one a few years back, and that was enough to put me off completely. I find this site has too much bullying going on, and also too many members out to cause distress with their reporting ID's as phoney. I have lost 5 friends from this and none of them will give personal information over the net, I don't blame them ID fraud could be a result. Not moderated properly and very bad security. If there was a direct contact with the company it would help but even that is too much trouble for FB. I don't recommend it at all. (read more)

Facebook is certainly a useful way of keeping in touch with people, but I find the GUI temperamental. It's not unusual to have to reload the page 30+ times before everything displays (full sidebar, more than just the last 5 or so posts) and even then things like video/photo thumbnails/'Like' buttons etc are badly misaligned. I also find that when typing a new post the characters are very slow to generate onscreen.

Facebook has been a great site for keeping my community up to date about new pages on my site. I'm not much of a personal Facebook site user, but many of my friends and family are so I enjoy that aspect as well.
