Oh dear, there are some illiterate morons leaving their own 'reviews' of this phone (not: dis fone) and other similar ones. Firstly, can I say that these people might find it useful to learn to read and write before you attempt the stance of a reviewer, let alone attempt to navigate a piece of modern technology.
I will attempt to post a review of the Nokia 1100, based on the facilities I was more than aware it had prior to purchasing it. I mean, why on earth buy a phone, which DOESN'T have a...

Let's be clear about this. Phone's are for communicating with and should be simple to operate. Having had mobiles for work since 1991 (and I hate them all: "enslaved by technology" and all that) I rate Nokia's. They have a logical menu system and are tough and reliable. If you want a fashion accessory (yawn!) or want to send a picture of your bottom to your many and varied acqaintances then go somewhere else but the neat little Nokia 1100 is the phone user's phone. It's small, inexpensive... (read more)

Absolutely brilliant phone. Mono screen (easy to see in all light), mono ringtones (louder than poly and nowadays everyone elese has poly so you will always know instantly it's your phone ringing), battery life modern phones could only dream of, great keypad (no awful four-way navi key, so much easier to use), fast menu navigation (no freezing or crashes)... It really is FAR better than current phones, but hey, if you kiddies like your gimmicks then that's what you'll get... (read more)

I have been using the Nokia 1100 for 6 months and it fits my needs very well. I am not a fun guy, so I am fond of simple and easy to use phones. It has a bulb light at the end that I find more useful than all the 1.5mb phone cameras in the world. When I wanted to buy a mobile phone a friend of mine recommended it, and I am still satisfied with the choice I made. (read more)

I have been using this phone since 2004. Its a perfect phone for basic users with high affordability. In Pakistan its price is around $55 to $60. Although it looks like an old phone because of its monochrome display and monophonic ring tones. But I am loyal to it because it is highly durable with lowest power consumption as I charge my phone thrice a week.
A feature which I like most in this phone is an inbuilt electric torch (Flashlight) on its head. Its a small LED type bright white light....

I had my first Nokia 1100 stolen but didn't hesitate to replace with the same. The phone is a good 'no frills' phone which is very user friendly. Battery life is good together with signal strength throughout my area. We have two of these phones in our household. We have a good quality camera if we want photography but don't need it from a phone.
Excellent value, ours both cost less than £20 from Amazon.

This review is for a Nokia 1100.
The Good points:
My family has had Nokia's for years and I feel the Nokia range of phones have the best, the most easy to use and most simple mobile phone menu systems. This simple model is no different. I purchased this phone for my wife over a year ago and we have been very impressed with it.
We looked at lots of other mobile phones before buying this one but most of the other makes seem to have poor menu systems. Some also have too many so-called...

Totally agree. Very good review by the way. I purchased an expensive singing and dancing phone but returned to using my old Nokia 1100. The other is now sat in the drawer, neither singing nor dancing. It ran the battery down too quick!! And it was not user friendly!! This may not look as pretty, but for battery power and ease of use it far surpasses the "pretty" one!!

The Nokia 1100 is a very simple little phone and is the best I have had for simply making/receiving calls and sending/receiving texts. I recently bought another phone thinking it about time I upgraded, a much more expensive phone that has a camera and all the rest of the frills and trimmings most people seem to yearn for these days. The battery does not last as long, it is more bulky, can't see the screen in sunlight, it has crashed a few times so I am now back to using this simple little... (read more)

Well what can I say. I have had so much luck with the Nokia 1100. I purchased it for LM30 and after 5 mths of buying it I had a 'mysterious' problem where it turned off and would not turn back on. I took it back and they didn't know what was wrong so they gave me another... that was fine UNTIL 2 months later the ringer stopped working... I took it back (2nd time!!) and they fixed it costing me an extra LM10!!!
Now after another 1 month of fixing the ringer it stopped working again!!!! So now...

I owned the Nokia 1100 mobile phone more than 2 years ago. A very good phone indeed in those times.
Screen quality and backlights were improved, and much better than 33XX and 52XX series phones.
The phone's strongest point is battery life.
I'm wondering where it gets its power that lasts for a week. Though it warns you "low battery" warning, still you could send ample number of text messages before it totally shuts down. Recharging the battery takes only an hour to full.
The features were...

The Nokia 1100 mobile phone is easy to use, practical, it has a flashlight, and it has the longest battery life of any mobile on the market.
I miss my old Nokia 5100 though, because the 1100 doesn't have the dictionary for speed texting in Dutch.
Apart from that, you can't go wrong!

I am a heavy user of this phone and as such it dosen't really stand up. Its ok but I do understand peoples comments about poor reception at times. Other phones on the same network work where this one dosen't. My main gripe is the flimsy quality and feel and that it switches itself off whenever it feels like it. Before anybody says why did you buy it, I didnt - it belongs to my work.

I think the nokia 1100 is the best mobile phone ever - I mean the battery life is brilliant and it has a lot of other brilliant points. And for your information my nokia 1100 has perfect reception. I call my brother in America (he also has a nokia 1100) and we sometimes talk for hours. I have had 12 phones and none could talk to him longer than 1 minute so obviously this phone is blummin' good.

To be fair - nokia did fix it under warranty - and it is now working - but the fact that it happened twice on different phones indicates that there is a problem there. Just luck of the draw I guess

I've had my Nokia 1100 mobile phone for a year and quarter now, and I have had no problems really, but it does seem to off and on by itself at times. Used to be more often when I first used it, but now seems very seldom. But overall, had no problem. Face plates are cheap so you can change anytime. My Nokia 1100 mobile phone rocks! The battery life is incredible (can run for over a week with average use). It looks great, is lightweight, and has a straightforward and easy to use Nokia menu system. Menu access is quick, and I have had no problems with the reception. The ring tones are loud and clear, and it also has a built in ring tone composer. The built in torch is very handy, and the silicone keypad is great if you are a heavy texter. The Nokia 1100 is a really simple, compact and cheap phone - mine was £29.99 with £5 worth of calls via Virgin. I was surprised that the car charger was £17 but when I bought another accessory from a 3rd party (a USB charger) found that it was incompatible - so probably worth buying the branded items. I switched from a Trium Mars and the one thing I miss is the ability to boost the earphone to a loudspeaker for in-car use. I still retain a Vodafone Sim as, whilst Virgin cheaper, coverage in... If you're like me and just want a phone for calling & texting then the Nokia 1100 is the one for you. I got it for £19.99 from Virgin - a Nokia for under £20, unbeliveable. Ok, no camera, color screen etc, but I have a perfectly good digital camera which takes better pictures than any phone on the market today. Nokia 1100 - I've noticed that all the good reviews cover all the points that have nothing to do with having a phone. Who cares about games and pretty pictures, etc. Try making calls with this phone. The reception quality is so bad you could only be a Nokia employee to write a good review. It's even worse than the 2100 which I didn't think was possible. I can only summise that Nokia is so popular because people havn't tried other phones. Compare the voice reception quality to a... (read more)

I realised how you have gone round most maybe all of the Nokia 1100 reviews and complaining because they said it has a good reception. It probably does - you must be in a bad area for your network, it is not the phone's fault. Me and my dad both have Nokias (on different networks) and he has a bad signal whilst I have a fabulous one. Don't put a great phone down by one little thing that bothers you.

I bought this contraption through Big Boyz Toyz on Garymont, ILLINOIS. The Nokia 1100 was the cheapest thing on the shelf. The demonstrator, I believe. The dealer took the thing off the shelf, blew the dust off, and lit the LED up. Boy, what a blinding glimmer of light; I was sold.
I don't much care for the Beethoven musicale extravaganza in ringtone [I just want a regular classic or continental beeping]. Actually like most Nokias, the ring is pretty lame, but talkin' good she does.

The Nokia 1100 is the mobile phone that all those people still using (or even still buying) the 3310 model have been waiting for: A smart, simple 'just a good mobile phone' device. If you want any sort of advanced functionality from a mobile phone (even WAP) then forget the 1100. My Nokia 1100 mobile phone came as a package deal that meant the cost was zero.
For those that believe telephones are for talking then this one is a delight in that it is light in weight, furthermore it is not cluttered by WAP or other accesories that are not really anything to do with telephones.
Excellent clear reception even in areas known to be bad.
I would most certainly recommend this phone to others.

The Nokia 1100 mobile phone I reviewed is originally owned by my niece. We swapped our phones for a week so I can be familiar with her newly bought phone. Nokia is known for its user-friendly menus and function so it's not really difficult getting acquainted with this cute phone. I could say an ideal phone for first-time users or for kids.
