    Good Points: The main reason I bought this to replace my old HP Office jet was for automatic duplex and to print on card stock and labels. The MP830 does this well.


    Bad Points: The fax software is poor in my opinion compared to the HP. I cannot queue faxes, I have to wait for each one to finish. Also there is no fax log, so if a fax fails it has to be started again from the beginning. Also there is no record of what was faxed. The "reports" that are printed are quite useless.


    General comments: I am not happy that I paid twice as much for this printer as my old one only to lose capability that I took for granted. The moral for me is to test ALL capabilities within the 30-day trial period, not just the ones that were considered substandard in the old machine. As to cartridges, I found a source where you can by the ink tanks without the chip very cheaply and transfer the chip from the old tank to the new one, but I haven't tried it yet.
