“Repair of heating system”

Booked a repair to heating system on Monday 18th January for Tuesday 12-6 slot. On Tuesday received a call to say unable to attend due to volume of work. Rearrange for Wednesday 20th,appointment carried out and boiler working. Broke down again Saturdays arranged appointment for 12-6. Repair carried out a fuse (the wrong fuse had been used on Wednesday). “Always happy British Gas customer”

During cold spell of last week, we had a power cut for a few hours which affected out streets back and front. When power was restored the boiler failed to function. Without heating and hot water very cold , and miserable, called British Gas engineer he found the circuit was gone. As soon as he got the part he fixed it. “Appalling customer service, money taken from wrong account”

Swapped in December 2015 to British Gas with Money Saving Expert group swap (swapped with them to other energy companies, and never had a problem before), but BG have been appalling. I added new Gas and Elec meter readings online when they were requested by BG. “Appaling bunch of liars, cheats and completely incompedent”

What a disgusting bunch of pirates they are. My story of utter incompetence is a long one so I have made a list: 1. They muck up my tariff - when I was living in rented accommodation and then moved out in June 2013 I rang in to close my account with my final readings expecting a final bill of around £60. “Never deal with British Gas”

On the Tuesday night my Bathroom radiator would not heat, called out British Gas to fix it, they came on Thursday between 1-6 O.K. “Homecare service”

On Thursday 12 November I telephoned Homecare Helpline for only the 2nd time in 7 years to report water pouring out of our overflow pipe and as the stopcock was seized I couldn't stop it. Told that as the water was outside the property it was not considered an emergency and an engineer would come on Monday I.e. In four days. I would just like to recommend British Gas Boiler Installation as I've had mine done over the last two days and I have to say the service has been absolutely fantastic! The 2 guys who did the work were so polite and completely professional throughout. I am so impressed by the actual job too. “Trying to help someone like me”

Actually I'm writing this review in order to help some of the customers who deal recently with British Gas. In order not to run to the store to get A New Gas card and come back couple of times, you should call their horrible customer service and get your seven digit unique number, which will enable you to top up straight away. “Need to research the meaning of customer service!”

I have never ever felt the need to be rude to someone on the phone as generally calls people are regular people trying to earn a living. However, the people I've been forced to deal with from British Gas don't listen, don't make sense and have a simple agenda to harass money out of their customers. british gas contacted me saying I could upgrade to smart meters so I took up the opportunity, the appointment was in 8 weeks time WOW, I have to wait 8 weeks for something they wanted me to have. my appointment was for the 10th june between 12 and 5 I got home at half 11 so I didn't miss them, at 14 45 the fitter phoned and said he wasn't coming because they had ran out of meters lol. “Whats going on?”

I know through years of living at my address my usage for gas and electric is around £150 per month regardless of supplier. All previous suppliers try to get me the account holder to pay more because they actually get fined if they allow a customer to get into debt so they try to keep you in credit. Given I know this Im used to arguing with my supplier till eventually I get my rebate or reduced direct debit. We have ordered a gas boiler. Simple huh? No! We had to send paperwork through. Fifteen times we sent paperwork and fifteen times they said they hadn't received it despite those I copied in got all of the details. “Watch out, they can easily ruin your credit file”

If you decide you want to move away from their overpriced energy supply, watch out for their final bill. They might forget to send it and simply refer you to a credit agency as default - it will be impossible to get any finance/loans/mortgages after this. It took me several months to make a switch (they kept refusing my new supplier) and in the end they ruined my credit score because of their inefficiency. The engineer came but could not fix the boiler and informed me because of that I was not eligible to the homecare policy.
