    I used 118 118 5 times in a week but I never knew that it was that dear just to ring them up its a good job I never asked them to but me on to the number I was asking for my phone bill is all ready £97 and the bill is due till december I think twice before I use that number again

    used 118 a few times. however they do not confirm with the take away establishment- if they actually use the service (so i was told by a poor pizza shop on the end of my wrath) anyway if you are hungry- phone the shop do not use 118..

    liked the variety

    disliked no confirmation that your order actually ends up anywhere at all

    Absolutely a deceptive rip off! The Number 118 118 offer to connect your call without informing of the £1.80 per minute rate when connected. Any other service must be better than this. Please lets make a point of posting alternative numbers here and spread the word.

    I lost my bank card in London so needed my banks number to report it. When I rang 118 118 was a message about 29p per minute which I had no qualms with. I'd not used the service before. They asked me did I want to be put through. What they failed to tell me was putting my call through to a local call would cost me a extortionate £1.80 per minute. Yes I was charged over £7.00 for a 4 minute call. Now that is not extortionate it almost boarders on criminal. Surely there must be rules ...

    If I could give a 'nought' rating for The Number 118 118 I would. This is by far the worst 118 service I have used; frequently I have had to explain where basic UK places e.g. 'Reading' are as the operators do not seem to know English places, simple queries need to be spelled out in Fisher-Price-speak and even after receiving two wrong numbers during one very drawn-out call, it took three calls to complain to their customer services before I got a refund. Not recommended.

    I HATE 118 118. three out of the last four numbers given have been wrong. No free re-enquiry just a pathetic cheque-based refund.

    Cost £4.87 to get a single number, I did let them put me through though. and that is apparently why the charge was so high, never again, there are some free services like 118 3733 .. but you have to listen to adverts and then it's one of those automated voice things.. best one for me is 188226 though.. it's 23p flat rate for the whole call, the staff are good.. and in the UK

    118 118 is not good service, gives out numbers that are not working and charges for it...my advice is use another service.

    118118 staff are for the chop soon, so if service isn't up to much please try and understand? being made redundant isn't a pleasant experience for anyone. but i do also understand that customer service is paramount.

    118 118 gave me the number I was asking for but did NOT tell me the ridiculously high charge they would make for doing so - £1.95 for a 29 second call!!!

    Today called 118 118 twice first given wrong number, second time text never came through.
    Used to use 118 247, but many times number not listed, but 118118 would have number.
    in future will just use internet

    I have only used The Number 118 118 service a few times & yet once again this morning, I had to repeat what I wanted & again was given the wrong number..... Can't believe this service is still in use

    The number 118 118 is ok but charges an awful lot i called them to find out a number and i had to spell the name twice and repeat the address 3 times!!

    I asked 118118 for the toll charge of the Elizabeth 2 Bridge over the river Thames. The answer I received on my mobile phone was: 'if you mean the Elizabeth River Downtown Tunnel, toll price costs $6.00.thx. It took sometime before the operator seemed to realise what I was asking.

    For those complaining about having to spell the names of companies etc. could you please remember that for even some of the most basic names there can be several different spellings? eg. Davies, Daveys, Davys, Davis etc. On top of that, when people are calling from a mobile, whilst driving, with kids screaming in the back and an ambulance driving by it suddenly becomes an effort to establish that the company name is "Lloyds TSB".     If the do not update their record regularly there is no point ringing them. I think that 2 year old telephone numbers are a waste of time. The records I have received some appear to be over 2 years out of date. They do not seem to update from the national database

    As a Company advertiser I never saw my advert go live with The Number 118 118 and I had already paid over £180.00! Their rep predicted to me between 15 and 30 calls per month and in 3 months I got none. So i phoned 118 they said they would look into this and ring me back, since I did not hear back from them I cancelled my direct debit in February or March, 118 sent me a letter asking for payment in full and I again rang them and again they said they would look into it and ring me back with ...

    If you are, like me a business owner, leave this company well alone! The list my company incorrectly and then chased me for money, overall providing an incredibly poor service.
