    Good Points: New layout and categories.


    Bad Points: Fairly new.


    General comments: If you want to see an alternative that is very cost effective give them a try.

    I have bought and sold on there and have been pleased with each transaction. the fact that you can re-list an item automatically is a real help and it doesn't cost a penny. The admin are especially helpful and you can even request new categories. all in all an enjoyable experience

    I registered on down with the hammer 3 days ago got no e-mail verification was wanting to ask and bid on an item for sale by mobicom. I got in contact with the site admin who in turn sent me a blank e-mail.
    Yes thats probably why their customer database is small.
    I don't think its worth the bother other larger auction sites have their act together.
    Sad but True.

    www.downwiththehammer.com was recently taken over and the new owners have really put the effort in. They have entirely reworked the site from a new look, to adding a forum, down to upgrading the hosting package to ensure reliability and speed. As the customer base grows it could well be a healthy alternative to the major players out there..
