I was looking to buy a new TV and saw on amazon I could get interest free and save money by getting their credit card. The interest is %24 which is the lowest offered, which is somewhat absurd. This part was upfront though, and since I don't plan on making any other purchases it wasn't a problem. Upon buying my TV I found out that while I could pay for things with the card, I couldn't access it or make payments. Even though they issued the card and let me use it I had to wait for a physical card to be mailed to me to link it to my profile. I got the card in, and had problems verifying my DOB...I wasn't really worried about it so I put it off to figure out later. Then I get a call from amazon reminding me a payment had been due, so I was like "hey I should pay that". Well it turns out my late payment was subject to a $64 late fee...basically double the payment due. They also don't accept any form of payment other then checks...even their e-checks require a specific check number. So now I have to wait to get checks to even pay the account. Also, in order to pay with an e-check over the phone through an automated service they charge you $15 per transaction...which is both absurd and absurdly profitable. In my opinion they draw you in with no interest on a big purchase...then make it unnecessarily difficult to manage the card and make payments. They then rely on late fees and phone payments to make money.

Amazon Credit Card has th worest customer service and it's filled with traps. Beware of this before applying for their card. About a year ago, I ordered a TV with their 12 month no interest, no payment option. Shortly after I ordered another product from amazon hoping it was also included in their promotion. Later I found out that the customer service was trying to send my account to the credit bureau for not paying the second item in the monthly fashion. After a lengthy conversation with their ...

Amazon did not send the loyalty points that has been promised. I've contacted both Halifax and amazon, have been kept on hold by Halifax for 20 minutes but in the end they decided there will be no gift cert to be issued.
They just never fulfill their promises. I will never ever open any account associated with Halifax and anything to do with amazon.

Very difficult to contact, either via website or phone. Instantaneous raising of my credit limit the moment 6 months was up (actually this isn't a good point, but I can't think of any others).

It's not worth applying for amazoncard in my opinion. It's more a hassle than anything else, no benefit at all. Halifax were so inefficient and I found their website so unreliable it doesn't even accept payment online, thus it makes it so difficult to pay for your balance.

After 5 weeks have elapsed since my 1500 points have been redeemed from my statement. Still I have not received the loyalty gift certificates. Each time I send an email and phoned the amazon.co.uk customer service they said that they are sorting it out with Halifax.

On-line service is appalling - one of the worst I've ever come across. The frequency with which the website crashes is alarming. Roughly 1/3 of the time I cannot get access to the website when I try- and even when I can, it frequently says there are no statements or transactions available. The only reason I have this card is to take advantage of the Amazon points, yet I have not actually received these points and 3 months, 20 phone calls and 5 e-mails later I still haven't received anything. Quit ...

Online banking is the worst I've had to deal with....Never shows past statements, hardly shows last transaction and doesn't even let me on 1/4 of the time! Having trouble with getting the vouchers owed to me as well!

A credit card is a credit card at the end of the day, I chose this one because of the amazon points, As I have been charged for a late payment fee because of no fault of my own I will be at a loss with this card. I am currently looking for an alternative company which offers some other incentive. I think that maybe because I pay my statement off in full each month this company does not like that.

They periodically mail me amazon.com gift certificates without my having to initiate anything. I also appreciate this service since I don't have to go through a series of hoops to redeem my rewards.

My Mastercard was fraudulently used some time ago to the value of c £160 in two transactions. As soon as the fraud came to light, contact was made with Amazon/Halifax, and they could not have been more helpful.

It is the first time that I had been a victim of this type of fraud, which I explained to them, and they were reassuring that the problem would be sorted out. After signing some declarations which followed my initial reporting, my credit card account was credited with the £ ...
