I have suffered (like many other reviewers) in the hands of these turkeys!! They do not warn you about payment dates then slap an immediate penalty of £12 on your account each time you are late paying. If you were carrying an interest free offer then this just dissapears the first time you are late and interest gets slapped on at an extortionate rate. As for Amazon's part in all this - yes you need to be wary there as whenever you make a purchase the fefault card comes up as theirs and you have...

DON'T GO THERE! I closed my account down after 1 month - disgusting customer services - rude and could not care less about a service that they are being paid for! Hidden charges & they are out to trip you up so you end up paying high interest rates even when you have cleared your balance! The worst credit card by far I have ever taken. Be WARNED!! ...

I have had the same treatment from them. Dreadful people awful service. Amazon should be ashamed to deal with them

Amazon offered a £20 discount on a Blueray I wanted to purchase if paid by their Bank of America card. Moreover, they offer points (rediculous low amount) on money spent. First bill arrived and a direct debit was set, however, second bill included charges plus interest! Unknowilngly small print reads that direct debit will be taken out on next bill. Third bill comes and more charges and interests added. Direct Debit does not go in. Amazon claim 'I cancelled it'! Of course not. Now i am receiving...

Very good card, £50 of vouchers have come through to me since signing up, every time i put a big purchase on the card i can get myself something extra from amazon. Never paid them a penny in interest, if you can't afford to fully pay off your card don't use it - simple as that. The one time my bank failed to send a direct debit for the full amount (Halifax's 'change team' decided I should only pay the minimum), the helpline was excellent and fully refunded the interest charged....

I took up this card to get the benefit of 9 months interest free and £15 bonus on first purchase. I was looking for a new TV at the time and they had what I wanted anyway. I've never had any of the problems with statements or payments that I read of here, but it is only shown in the small print that the interest free is applicable only to Amazon purchases. I finished up the 12 months by renewing my car insurance and thus got the £10 voucher for spending £1000. Biggest difficulty...

Hi, I signed up to this card and then bought something on Amazon with it. They never sent me a statement or asked me to make a payment. The first thing I knew about it was when Bank of America wrote to me saying that I was in default. I paid the balance off immediately but they would not remove the late marker from my credit file. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS CARD ! ...

I've used an Amazon Credit Card for about a year now, originally taking advantage of a small cash incentive (10 or 15 pounds, can't quite remember). I've had a few fairly minor administrative problems, but with one thing after another I've finally got fed up and cancelled it. Several things I don't like: They don't process your payments quickly enough which for some reason is your fault. You can be given a payment date which can fall over the weekend and send the money by fast payment on the...

I only got the amazon bank of america credit card to get the £10 discount off an order as i didnt see the harm. I have used it once since the initial purchase and always pay as soon as the good arrive and i am happy with them. However no matter when i try to access my account to pay the balance there is a problem and wont let me access the site. No wonder people get charged late fees if you cant pay! I eventuall called and paid the balance off. The card is now cut into a hundred pieces and...

HI, It is an horrible card never apply or never use it. Just it is the way Bank of America grab your money. Credit period is lesser than other cards. Without any reason they charge over due amount of £12 and interest £1. Better never apply for it. Hope god will save you. Thanks Venu...

Got the card to buy TV from Amazon and use interest free period. I paid my first monthly payment by debit card two days before the due date but it took BoA five days to apply the payment to my account which meant that the payment was late. They then charged me £12.00 late fee and cancelled the interest free! Called them and all I got was that the payment had to be in the account due date. But come on, when all the other banks (and I work for one) are doing instant payments why does it take...

This card is very poor when compared with any other major credit card companies including amx and hsbc for example. (1)They charge interest on the full amount of balanace even if you paid the (whole balance -1 )pounds each month!! (2)They respond your email 3 days. (3)They don't give you a number with which if you pay in full you will be cleared of debt - they simply want to charge interest on you. (4)Over the phone, they don't have respect for customer. Every question will be treated as a silly...

Bank of America/Amazon credit card: I had forgotten how horrible, horrible, very bad and truly frustrating Bank of America (BoA) is. I couldn't get in to see my statement or pay my bill online, as I had another card with MBNA, and the banks merged, but not enough to talk to each other. So, after accepting the late fee, I tried to cancel my account. Two months later, I'm still trying to cancel my account. Everyone I speak to at the bank is quite pleasant, but not able to help me. Or says they...

Horrendous customer service with awful automated phone system. They took total amount out of my account twice, then charged me £12 for the privillage of making me overdrawn. I have been trying to close the account for 3 weeks and don't seem to be able to as can't speak to anyone. A truly awful and stressful experience and for what? Nothing! This card and it's support is utter rubish - do youself a favour and do not bother! I'm glad I still have my old (reliable) cards (Nationwide...

Never received a card. Just a phone call that I was late and haven't seen a physical bill. Thought I was getting a bargain with the purchase and opening an account. I feel it is a scheme. Difficult to get a hold of when you don't have an account number and when they called they did not have a call back number. I wish I would of known sooner of all these difficulties. Don't get fooled by the incentives. Got disconnected twice while on phone support. I wish I would of read these reviews before applying....

Not impressed by the fact that Bank of America (who runs Amazon card) asks for your password as part of their 'security questions'. When I said I didn't want to give out that info, the bloke said it's part of the check, and that he can see my password in front of him. Nice!...

I was looking to buy a new TV and saw on amazon I could get interest free and save money by getting their credit card. The interest is %24 which is the lowest offered, which is somewhat absurd. This part was upfront though, and since I don't plan on making any other purchases it wasn't a problem. Upon buying my TV I found out that while I could pay for things with the card, I couldn't access it or make payments. Even though they issued the card and let me use it I had to wait for a physical card...

Amazon Credit Card has th worest customer service and it's filled with traps. Beware of this before applying for their card. About a year ago, I ordered a TV with their 12 month no interest, no payment option. Shortly after I ordered another product from amazon hoping it was also included in their promotion. Later I found out that the customer service was trying to send my account to the credit bureau for not paying the second item in the monthly fashion. After a lengthy conversation with their...

Amazon did not send the loyalty points that has been promised. On-line service is appalling - one of the worst I've ever come across. The frequency with which the website crashes is alarming. Roughly 1/3 of the time I cannot get access to the website when I try- and even when I can, it frequently says there are no statements or transactions available. The only reason I have this card is to take advantage of the Amazon points, yet I have not actually received these points and 3 months, 20 phone calls and 5 e-mails later I still haven't received anything. Quite...

A credit card is a credit card at the end of the day, I chose this one because of the amazon points, As I have been charged for a late payment fee because of no fault of my own I will be at a loss with this card. My Mastercard was fraudulently used some time ago to the value of c £160 in two transactions. As soon as the fraud came to light, contact was made with Amazon/Halifax, and they could not have been more helpful. It is the first time that I had been a victim of this type of fraud, which I explained to them, and they were reassuring that the problem would be sorted out. After signing some declarations which followed my initial reporting, my credit card account was credited with the £160,...
