ive had my aqua fountainfor just over 2 years when the tap broke (dont ask me how or why) i stripped it enough to get at the tap yes it should be quite easy to repair thought i) so i emailed breville who referred me to local dealer for help so rang local dealer in oldham manchester, sorry we dont carry spare taps hard luck, so not to be deterred i emailed my plea to an email address got a reply immediately to the effect that they had referred my plea to the brita customer support team what a joke after about a week and a half i got an email back apologising for the fact that they could not supply a simple tap in my opinion they have absolutely no right selling these machines in this country unless they have available a full and comprehensive range of spares available off the shelf,if you are considering buying one dont even go there please look what else is available from other manufacturers and try to find out how available spare parts are, i for one wont touch breville products with a barge pole in future their customer support team should all be on the dole where the whole lot will probably end up unless they get up off their fat useless lazy asses and start kicking some asses

Don't be tempted buy a Brita Aqua Fountain - they are rubbish - I wouldn't even give them a one star rating except that I had to in the review.
My third brita Aqua Fountain suddenly stopped dispensing water recently - 13 months old. The first one lasted 6 months - I returned it to Argos and got a replacement - this one failed after 8 months and it's replacement has failed after 13 monyhs and out of guarantee. All three stopped dispensing water.
Brita/Breville Customer Service is disastrous - ...- Read Guest's review (131 words)

This is the third Aqua Fountain. Used in a small office. Now ready to give up on these things. The first two obviously had bearing problems with the fan since after prolonged periods of noise the fans stopped working. This really is a design and manufacturing fault. The most recent unit will not dispense water, nor will any water drain out of the drain plug at the base of the unit. Apart from taking it to the garage and connecting an air line to it, there is no other option than to throw it away ...- Read Guest's review (124 words)

My Brita Aqua Fountain has now been replaced with a new one three times. First one, stoppped flowing with water after about 9 months, took it back, got a replacement in June 2009, and have just rang the retailer as it has started making a terrible noise. We are now on our third one. We wouldn't have bothered this time, but have a a large supply of the very expensive filters sitting in the cupboard that will go to waste, (more money wasted thanks to Brita). Shame, as it looks great and does what i ...- Read littlejohn's review (154 words)

I totally agree with everything all these people are saying. I have had my Brita water chiller for approx 1 year and the cooling system went and all I got was warm water and now it does not work at all. It sounds like it is a common fault so I think the company should rectify this problem and take all the old ones off the market and replace if necessary, they are not cheap, and for just to last 9mths to 1 year I think its ridiculous. At first I thought they were good so I bought my Son one for C ...- Read maggsah's review (120 words)

had a Brita Aqua Fountain Water Filter Chiller just over a year and like everyone else's it has stopped cooling, still making the awful humming noise but water warm!I paid £100 for the machine which I think is absolutely ludicrous now knowing it only works for a year.very cross and am going back to my jug for the fridge!- Read Sarahw80's review (111 words)

the brita aqua fountain water filter is a nice looking unit in stainless steel- nice illumination at night in kitchen from the bright blue led's- noisy main fan when running but like every other report read soon failed and faulted!
after a long period of problem solving-it appears that the main fan doesn't cool the unit enough! fit x2 extra fans near the electronic boards in the top with x2 hole cut out to bring in fresh air sorts overheating out and now my unit works fine!!
come on boffins at ...- Read Guest's review (128 words)

My Brita Aqua Fountain unit failed within 9 months due to oveheating!
solution-= fit x2 fans near electronics in top with holes in sides to draw cool fresh air sorts problems and now it works fine although noisely from original fan.
dribble after time due to lack of equalisation between two chambers top and bottom via fliter- driil small hole down side of filter!- Read cool al's review (101 words)

I had owned a low cost Hinari water filter cooler for some years and decided to move up to the very stylish Brita Aqua Fountain. Compared to the £29.95 I paid for the Hinari, the Brita Aqua Fountain was very expensive.
Having used the Brita Aqua Fountain for several months I must say that I am quite disappointed with it. The unit is in a cool spot in the kitchen but the motor runs quite considerably. The blue light looks nice but this cannot be turned off over night unless the unit switch ...- Read Guest's review (161 words)

Water only trickled out then stopped completely after only a couple of days (airlock, vacuum, blockage?). I dismantled it and started again and by the next day, water was not coming out again. I also noticed that the cooler was on full blast constantly - noisy and presumably using a lot of electricity. I got my money back and bought a Russell Hobbs which looks less stylish and does not make water quite so cool - but it works!- Read Guest's review (93 words)

The Brita Aqua Fountain Water Filter Chiller is a great idea which works OK for a few weeks and then it gradually breaks down until it is totally useless and frustrating.

Only buy this if you can take out a cheap maintenance contract with it. I am now on my third machine which I purchased from Argos, have taken cover as it breaks down after about a year.
My daughter is also on her third machine and her replacement has only lasted just over one month. The motor is obviously not designed to run continuously and packs in very quickly. Needs a better motor in it and it would be great.- Read Guest's review (90 words)

My Brita Aqua Fountain Water Filter Chiller runs very hot and hence the cooling fan runs all the time and is VERY loud. It burnt the melamine work surface in my kitchen over a 4 month period, doing about 1000 work of damage. The water is not very cold. The carbon filter leaves small black specs in the water. Dont touch it with a bargepole.- Read jwighton's review (68 words)

The Brita Aqua Fountain Water Filter Chiller broke down just after 12 months, fan works, but no cooling of water. The company were no help. So I am sad to say "Don't buy it". Very expensive unit for just twelve months use. Shame about the support, especially with so many glasses of the right temperature drinking water.- Read alainhea's review (74 words)

My Brita Aqua Fountain Water Filter Chiller stopped working! Been in touch with Breville customer services four times to ask why my chiller has stopped working. The reply i finally had yesterday was it is probably the thermos which can-not be repaired. I am most disappointed at the comments and will be writing to someone who may help me.- Read Guest's review (80 words)

I should have carried on using my Britas Jug that goes in the fridge. Noisy, louder than my dish washer, water comes out at a trickle some times, no switch to turn lights off when I go to bed.- Read CAnnesley's review (41 words)
