    I also have one of these boilers, its just over 2 years old and has packed in over the weekend, it makes an awful noise then trips out. I'm just researching before I have it reparied, I may just have it replaced rather than spend loads of money on it. It doesn't get used much as spend a lot of time away and would of expected it to last at least five years.
    It was installed in my new build house, the builders are not interested and neither are the manufacturers. Cheap rubbish.....
    I'll buy a Bosch snd be done with it!!

    We have had the IDEAL ISAR boiler for approx. 3 years and totally agree with all the bad reviews it is receiving DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT HANDING OVER YOUR HARD EARNED CASH for this pile of RUBBISH, I have had to mark it with 1 star (1 to many in my view) as I can't post my review until I have assigned a rating.

    If you buy this boiler you will never be able to have a nice long soak in a hot bath again, the quality of hot water upstairs in non existent, the only way to get anything other than tep ...

    we had a Ideal Isar He35 fitted under 2 years ago. It has broken down several time since. Recently water going extremely hot to cold. Homeserve engineer reported it to be the heat exchanger due to scale. We do not live in a hard water area can't understand why it has happened on a new boiler. Insurance refuse to cover this part. Left to foot the bill. My last ideal boiler lasted 10years during which every part of boiler had be replaced. Ideal boilers are not fit for purpose they are built.

    It is Rubbish and warm front are making a killing by suppling this piece of Rubbish. Two PCB boards and some other part three months ago and this weekend water has begun leaking from the boiler.
    Will find out the problem Wednesday - don't waste your money on this.

    Rang the guy who fitted it and even he has no idea why he chose it in the first place!

    I've had an Ideal Isar HE 35 Boiler fitted as part of the warm front grant, what a coincidence it went wrong after 3 months. It has the same problem as majority of the blogs on here LF power failure to start the boiler. Luckily I took out boiler cover from E-On (£10pm) and for a cost of £50.00 they got the part required and replaced it as well. Touch wood nothing goes wrong until I can scoop the funds to change it.     Hi, We have had our ISAR 35 HE for about 5 years, possibly longer, over that time we have built a good friendship with the British Gas Engineers that regularly visit the bioler to repair it (Thank god we have the British Gas cover). You name the error code and we have had it.
    I'm writing this today as we had L8 yesterday and LF this morning, thankful a rest have cleared these for now, but I am looking at getting it replaced. Even the British Gas engineers say the Ideal boilers are rubbish FYI: ...

    I had mine fitted about just over 2 years ago and i have seen a display of a L F coming.When inquired about the problem i was told an engineer has to come and fix the prolem which would cost me £240.

    In my experience in working with these boilers for years are there made as a poverty central heating system thats why they put em in on the warmfront scheeme.
    9 out 10 will say noisy ignition which even now they have changed the ignition probe they still make ya arse open when they light.
    pcbs are un reliable.
    diverter valves are doing whatever they want.
    oh and the big one the boiler cycles all the time trust me the amount of gas this boiler uses to preheat is unreal and its supposed to be a b ...

    We had an Ideal ISAR condensing boiler fitted when we built our house, all I can say is what a load of rubbish this boiler is. Ideal have offered to "fix" the boiler for £200 inc. VAT, parts and labour - although they state there is nothing wrong with the boiler. I am led to believe that there is a fault with this particular boiler and believe that all of them should be recalled (until someone's kitchen is blown in half by the exploding sound it makes!).     My Ideal Ideal ISAR 35 HE condensing combi boiler broke down after thirty months. I phoned warm sure,and they had a fitter out the next day. He replaced the control panelHe fitted a upgraded control panel. Boiler now working perfect.Total cost £210, Not bad when you think it saves 50% on my gasbill.Not forgetting warmsure fitted it for free with a labour govermentgrant

    My Ideal ISAR 35 HE condensing combi boiler has been working for 2 years and is gone,called the engineer and would be £800.00 pounds plus vat to replace the heat exchanger,the pcb,and the pump.
    As I live in the flat I had to buy another ideal boiler, otherwise I would have to do holes in my kitchen.

    The Ideal ISAR 35 HE condensing combi boiler worked for a while then developed the expolosive bang-doesn't heat hot water properly and gives heating when not required. Ideal are despicable.

    I have read through all the comments left about this Ideal ISAR 35 HE condensing combi boiler and they are all fair and reasonable about its reliability (very poor but good...when works), costs to get it fixed (extortionate), Ideal customer service (lacking, especially when you ring regularly about the bolier not working again!). We are still just under warranty and will have to now extend that. Thanks for the tips all you people that have this boiler system. Fortunately we have a good engine ...

    I have Ideal ISAR 35he, and it is a load of rubbish. It is only just over 4 years old. Had it repaired in December 2008, had heat exchanger plate renewed, and pcb board, continually displaying fault LF, Prior to that, had engineers out twice last year, and now here we are at Easter, have water pouring out from underneath, and engineer here as I am typing this up, trying to find fault.     Ideal boliers are rubbish, fact! Had my Ideal ISAR 35 HE condensing combi boiler for 31/2 yrs as part of a full new central heating system. Had 2 diverter valves and one spark electrode. Still giving problems, either a faulty gas valve or the PCB this time. Phoned the local service agent who said he had to give up the contract as they were proving too troublesome and his advice was to get it on a service contract.     Ideal ISAR 35 HE condensing combi boiler service is rubbish
    18 months old two pcbs and now the company that fitted is saying no gaurantees on a part that is three months old do you not get a twelve months on a new part any more
