Not bad for general surfing or basic tasks. Battery life was bad when new but now is terrible (2yrs later) and can just survive bootup and a couple of minutes use prior to needing charging. This is not too bad for me since it is used as a home system anyway.
It has issues with freezing applications as it seems to lack the power to run the media centre properly, this can be resolved by bombing the app out in taskmgr and re-starting it (sometimes). But to be fair it is ok for a budget laptop

The Advent 7113 is a basic laptop, missing a fire wire port, battery life absolutely disgraceful less than an hour when brand new down to 10-15 minutes now.
Fan comes on too often and has a loud annoying whine.
1gb of ram struggles with vista.
No card reader, 2 of the 3 usb ports have packed in already
I would not recommend this machine unless you get it very cheaply.

This advent 7113 was a huge waste of money i have seen better quality books than this laptop. After three months the power supply overheated and caused the computer to have something inside burn out and cause the laptop to really stink of burning. Because of this i had to have it sent away and fixed which cost an arm and a leg. I also had to then buy a new power supply for the advent which cost over £50.00. About six months later the speakers went, if you played a sound or a song it would sound mumbled and unlistenable. I have not yet fixed the problem because i am looking into getting a new laptop that is actually worth the money that i pay.

The Advent 7113is a fairly good laptop for price with Vista premium as standard however battery can only be described as disgraceful also on our second power supply costing £30.00 each, but after 2 years the machine is still doing everything we want from it so we will be running it to the death.

Easy to use, good screen quality. Laptop is good but would not recommend purchasing this one due to the terrible battery life.
Battery is terrible in my opinion! Have to keep it plugged in all the time. When it says fully charged it only lasts 20 minutes then you have to charge it up again.
Therefore I do not recommend the Advent 7113.

Didn't like this as my first laptop, my father bought it for £444 in May 06 for my 18th, since then we've probably spent a further £200 replacing batteries and chargers. I treat my laptop very well and find it embarrassing going back to PC world so much because my laptop runs my battery and chargers down. I recently bought a new battery and charger coming to over £70, all seemed dandy at first with 2. 1.2 hour battery life but using it now, its on 14%, says its charging but its not, over the past 2 hours I've tried everything, its gone down from 20% for 14%. Only get this laptop if you have money to throw away on replacing batteries and chargers.

It has a quality screen and good space but my battery does not charge therefore I have to have it plugged in all the time whilst im using it. I wish I never bought it now in my opinion - waste of money for me. Therefore I do not recommend Advent 7113.

In my opinion very noisy fan, poor battery life, shared memory card so not suitable for gaming in my experience.
Overall its well worth the money if you want it for general use but for me personally it is'nt the best advent laptop.

Advent 7113 is a good price for a laptop, its very fast with XP, the only bad point for me is it is slow with Vista... Still well recommended.

It is good that you can go onto the internet/network wireless, without a card thing in the side of it! Recommend this Advent laptop.

I bought mine and followed the instructions for charging the battery. After a while I noticed that the battery was only lasting 45 minutes. I took it back and and was told batteries were not a stock item, it had to go back to the factory. After 3 weeks I got it back and it is perfect now, a full charge lasts 2 1/2 hours. So, if you buy one and the battery is bad take it back. All in all though, it is a good laptop for the price.

Have already changed it due to a faulty screen, and now my DVD-ROM has failed for the third time I wish I had never had bought it.

My Advent 7113 was one of the best gifts I have ever received.

Overall a fantastic laptop. Great price major draw back is the battery life. If I knew it was this bad I would never have purchased it in the first place.

This is the first Laptop I've had. So impressed I've gone as far as ditching my desktop, hooked up my main TFT monitor, keyboard and mouse and put on an external hard drive, plus there is of course the VISTA Home Premium. What more could one want!!
