Good Points: The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, the sound effects and music are very good and it has the Aki-wrestling engine which is considered to be the best wrestling-engine, so the gameplay rocks as well. The pace of the wrestling speed has been pumped up a bit as well which is good thing.
Bad Points: There aren't many matchtypes which is a damn shame, no create a wrestler option, no weapons or tables to throw someone through, no backgrounds to wrestle.
General comments: Def Jam Vendetta,
I am a very big fan of wrestling-games and especially AKI wrestling-games, because AKI(game-developer) has made the most playable and tactical wrestling-engine to date, not even Smackdown on the PS2 can compete with this engine. Def Jam Vendetta is a sort of offspring of WWF No Mercy on the N64, only this time there are no WWE wrestlers for you to choose but Def Jam label rappers, the gameplay is absolutely great, the controls handle very smooth and the action is fast paced, the graphics are really great as well, with facial animations and every wrestler has his or her thing, especially the hilarious Supermoves are different for everyone, the music is, as you can imagine, Hiphop/rap music from rapppers like Ghostface Killah and DMX etc. Sound effects are great as well, with the usual painful sounds of wrestlers in agony. There are also multiplayer-modes like tagmatches or handicap-matches, but it's a shame that there aren't many other gamemodes, only the standard modes. I missed the Battle Royal, Cage-matches and so on. The arena's all look the same except for other backgrounds, there are no backstage fights and no weapons to grab out of the audience, but overall this is absolutely a great game for any wrestling fan, it's fun to play and has lots of wrestlers to choose from, lots of moves and finishers and standard-multiplayer modes which makes this game last longer.
