Took out a years policy, but landlord wanted property back after few months so called them to either hold or cancel the policy, they did and took all the remaining amount as a cancellation fee. 4 months cover used and 8 months of penalty for cancelling. Awful insurance company and way they respond to complaints. Be warned, do not pay for a full year in advance (read more)

Policy bought on line via compare the Market. It wAs the second lowest and in my opinion the best value. We have had to make two claims this year and the claims team have been very responsive and settled for the replacement value even though some items where over 3 years old. I am very satisfied and could not fault them. Well done. (read more)

I am moving house and when I contacted them to do a change of address and was told it would cost me £20 administration fee on top of the change in risk. I asked what this was for and was told it was for my documents being updated online??? They are claiming to be online their version of online is completely antiquated. I also work for a 'Real' online insurer and know for a fact that it does not cost £20 to update online documents! I then said it wasn't worth it and as there was only 2... (read more)

Were not cooperative when it came to claiming and negelcted to respond to emails. They may well be price competitive but when it comes to making a claim if they will not respond this hardly represents good value for money - would avoid (read more)

Useless! I had Ensleigh contents cover for a year. I decided not to renew as , and 3 months before the cover was due to expire I emailed to let them know that I didn't want to renew. I was told that this was fine. A month before the cover was due to expire I was phoned by Ensleigh and asked if I wanted to renew - I said no.
After the year was up I discovered that cover had been renewed, without any correspondance or notification. Most annoying of all, the account that the money had been...

Endleigh's customer service staff are absolutely terrible. Hannah and Adam both promised to call me back, a week later I called up to find out why neither of them had bothered and a representative called Charlotte Wild was incredibly rude and out the phone down on me mid sentence. Never deal with this joke of a company. (read more)

I purchased both building and content insurance from Endsleigh Insurance last year and paid over £1k for the two. In a nutshell I would NOT recommend this insurance company to anyone because when i needed to make a claim I was told that basically I wasn't covered. Really.
Basically in december 2009 my roof started to leak and as a result i suffered some damage to the interior. I put in a claim after a lengthy inspection from their surveyors (and that took weeks !) and the report. In the...

After moving house on the exact date of renewal, Ensleigh still charge an administration fee for changing house details after one day in and don't give you the option to cancel the policy unless you pay a £50 admin fee! What a rip off, don't go near them! (read more)

Do not touch this company with a barge pole. You make a claim for a mattress which was mouldy, due to a damp room. Assessor comes round to look at the damage, then you spend 4 days phoning them to find out what is happening with you claim. You are told that they will phone you back before the end of the day, 4 days in a row. Then you are told it is not a valid claim because it is an 'Ongoing problem!', it is down to our buildings insurance. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY. At least Dick Turpin... (read more)

Endsleigh charged well over the odds for contents insurance in secure city centre flat. Premium was over £200 more expensive than many other companies.
May well be the only company who will insure students but professionals should shop around.

Endsleigh are the only insurance company in the UK that will provide insurance to students in rented accomodation who want to insure their own belongings in their bedroom or dorm room. It's useful when you are in shared rented accomodation and your flatmates do not want to spend the money to get a policy for the whole house. Unfortunately, knowing that they have no competition, Endsleigh will overcharge you to the point that you are practically paying as much as you would to insure a whole... (read more)
