I cannot emphasise enough the the expert advice and help I was given by Indra Weight and Tracey Hopkins at Vincent Bond & Co. At all times they were calm, efficient and importantly, sympathetic and non-judgemental. All the questions I had were fully answered and I felt enormous relief that at last I was getting help. I could have gone down the bankruptcy route but I felt guilty about the situation I was in and wanted to find some way out which would at least pay back some of my debt. An IVA,... (read more)

I have to admit to being less than keen to investigate the idea of an IVA as we had already gone down the route of a DMP with another company but this hadn't worked out. Hubby pushed for an IVA and started the ball rolling, however once we had started the process i soon realised how beneficial this would be. Andy Davie at Vincent Bond was fantastic, he went through the whole process with us fully and explained everyhing thoroughly. We are now almost 2 years in and haven't looked back. (read more)

IVA is a good way to pay your debts, when it all seems to have got out of hand. I allows you to live on a reasonable income and pay a lump sum to a handler for your creditors. Although it can take a few years and you cannot get any credit (except car ins) while you are on it. I have recently had to take what they call a an IVA holiday because my car broke down and needed some very expensive repairs, but I was allowed to knock my payments down to a third for six months to pay for it....
