I know that property management agencies have a bad name, you never hear a good story - who has ever heard anyone say how fantastic, accessible and diligent their agency is? Well let me tell you about Aspire (the name being truly ironic). We own a flat that is leasehold, unfortunately the ground lease freeholder hired Aspire to manage the common areas, organise the building insurance, 'cleaning', etc. We have been paying them exhorbitant fees for 5 years and they cannot even organise the changing of a lightbulb. They are rude, unhelpful, try and make out they are doing you a favour if they ever even respond. It took me SIX months to get them to respond to my emails and phonecalls and we had promises galore from the 'new' property manager, he even gave us timeframes (which we'd never had the luxury of before) only to miss all those deadlines and quickly go down the same route as all his other colleagues, not answering phone calls or emails, ever. You cannot get ahold of any management at Aspire, I think they must be in the staffroom drinking tea whilst letting all calls go to voicemail.

    The Agents
    -Aspire's estate agents are rude.
-Their agents do not respond to emails, phone calls etc.
-They encourage landlords to retain a large proportion of the damage deposit even where the only change in the property is standard wear and tear.

    General
-Information provided is inconsistent and frequently inaccurate.
-They charge large amounts of money to fill in a pro forma contract and cannot even copy name and phone numbers correctly.

    Conclusion
I would not recommend Aspire to anyone u ...

    - didn't give the correct information about what changes should be made at the property for our offer (e.g. - we asked for new furniture, all we got was MORE of the SAME, awful furniture).
    - Didn't have forms ready for me to sign and only bothered to call me 5 minutes before my meeting.. even though we had arranged the meeting in the morning of that same day (about 12 hours before)
    - were not clear of due dates for guarantor forms, and then proceeded to call me the day before they were supposed ...

We rented a flat from Aspire for 9 months. As soon as money had changed hands that was it - their attitude changed completely and they weren't interested in us. I found almost all their staff to be rude, arrogant and dismissive. They ignore your calls and emails and we had a nightmare getting our deposit back. Even when we did get it back some five weeks after we vacated the property they wanted to deduct a total of £180 for the most ridiculous things. For instance they deducted £10 ...
