We visited Billing Aquadrome in August 09 and had a wonderful time! Our group was 4 adults and 2 infants (10 and 16 months)and we hired a lodge (The Hampton Lodge)
The lodge was nice, clean and spacious for our two little ones. We had a clean kitchen with simple cookery basics (although there was no frying pan!)The three bedrooms had clean bedding and the bathroom was clean. We where unsure what facilities where available to start with e.g travel cots, towels, cutlery but a quick e-mail and a prompt reply was all that was needed.
On the down side we over looked a lake which was very dirty with stagnant water and colourful toys amongst other thing floating past every now and again! The grass was covered in duck, geese and swan poo so we couldn't walk around without shoes on but we appreciate that's nature and after the grass was cut we where able to have a BBQ on it!
There could be more tourist information of things going on in and around Great Billing and Northampton as had we not had an iphone we would have found it hard to know what to do. We recommend a visit to Whipsnade Zoo where the elephants where being walked by the keepers and North Lodge Rural Centre where you can watch pigs being raced and milk a wooden cow.
We didn't really like the look of the pubs on site but there is a nice pub near the travel lodge near by which is family friendly.
We didn't witness any of the rowdiness or groups of youths described in other reviews and overall we felt very safe and i would have been happy to let my daughter (had she been older that 16 months!) play out.
As we stayed in a lodge we didn't use the facilities for camping and as i have said we didn't visit the pubs or restaurants on site prefereing to cook in our lodge.
Although there is some updating and cleaning of the site to do i would be happy to visit again.

It was our first visit to Billing Aquadrome, and with the amount of people visiting billing each day, its hard to to keep up with the cleaning. It was fantastic, we are going again

I went to Billing aquadrome 6 years ago when my aunt had a static caravan there, and fell in love. Since then she sold due to new rules from the new owners.
I went back at the beginning of this year, and what a complete change. I saw Litter and muck. The toilet blocks I saw were in a vandalised state. It seemed the touring caravan pitchs had been taken over by green static caravans for rental, hardly any space for camping. The fair needs a total revamp and the site needs a total makeover. Durin ...

We arrived midday on Thursday and by 6 oclock we wish we had not come at all!The place was a complete mess and the state of the shower blocks were a disgrace. We have three children who are generally allowed to play by themselves on visits to campsites, within minutes our three who can look after themselves came running back saying that big kids were bullying them.We left on the Friday as soon as we could.

We witnessed filthy, yobbish, loutish, fighting, crude, selfish, dangerous and outrageously loud behaviour. We live 1/2 an hour away, so it was relatively easy for us to leave at midnight with our 3 small children. This is what we did!Even owners of the static caravans say the noise and drunken parties last till 3 - 4 in the morning nearly every night! The facilities are smelly, grimy and old. With the clientele this place attracts, what would you expect? I tackled the security guards on the gate ...

I originally went to Billing Aquadrome for a Classic Car Show and that was when we discovered it had a campsite and caravan site. On our way out of the show we made enquiries at the main house and found the prices, £15 per night, up to 6 people, a dog and a car, to be more than reasonable. Fires are allowed, as are BBQs. Anyhow, we went out that week, bought everything we needed and drove back up the M1 the following Friday night and stayed for two nights. The site had just about every ...
