    Good Points: Rugged build, very reasonably priced, smooth cycling with high brass shells


    Bad Points: Bolt has problems staying open


    General comments: Bought a BSA 28 gauge semi auto about 2 years ago. For the price I paid for it, all of about $370, it was well worth it, at least as far as I'm concerned. Having said that, there is one problem I have with this gun-the bolt staying back while loading. This, of course, isn't exactly a good thing, as you could lose your fingers. I hold the bolt back while loading in order to avoid this problem. I want to get it fixed, but BSA no longer produces guns here that I am aware of. Now, outside of that "minor" drawback, it is actually a fantastic gun. It cycles very well with high brass shells (low brass-forget it), and it's built extremely sturdy. You can go through briars all day long with this gun and not even get a scratch on it. It came with three choke tubes, full, modified, and improved cylinder. I have actually taken three tom turkeys with this gun so far. The full choke will actually hold a good pattern out to 25 to 30 yards with 7 1/2 shot. As I said-except for the drawback with the bolt, it is actually an excellent gun for the money-if you can find them anymore in the States!
