Criminals are an ugly,cowardly lot more worthy of pity. This is what you'll learn playing through the single-player campaign in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV.
The series cheered for glorifying violence has taken an unexpected turn: it's gone legit.Oh sure,you'll still blow up cop cars,run down innocent civilians, bang hookers, assist drug dealers and lowlifes and do many, many other bad deeds, but at a cost to main character Niko Bellic's very soul.
GTA4 gives us characters and a world with a level of depth previously unseen in gaming and elevates its story from a mere shoot-em-up to an Oscar-caliber drama. Every facet of Rockstar's new masterpiece is worthy of applause. Without question, Grand Theft Auto IV is the best game since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
You play as Niko Bellic, an Eastern European attempting to escape his past and the horrors of the Bosnian war.
He arrives in Liberty City to experience the American dream, only to discover his cousin, Roman, may have fibbed a bit in his tales of success. Starting from nothing, Niko makes a living as a killer and enforcer, a bad-ass foreigner who appears to have no morals. The longer we stay with Niko, the more we see that there is a broken human being inside, one who would give anything to escape the person he once was.

The Grand Theft Auto 4 game is true art. I've played all GTA games and they just continue to get better as time follows. I bought the game to play online and it is very entertaining, addictive, and very humorous.

I would highly recommend this game.

This is a game that you take part of a Russian immigrant named niko bellic. He is illegal, im great at that. He came to find the American dream in liberty city. Statues are high up in the sky along with tall wide buildings that are a lot of fun to climb. Remember the building in king kong it is available in this game. I got one word for you.

Well recommend Grand theft auto 4 for the PS3.

I believe this game is great with detail such as graphics, and attention to detail but I feel taking some of the things out what were in the older GTA'S was a bad idea, if I to suggest to someone to buy this game it would be for the online experiance, with that you can have hours of fun playing together or against the others for the glory and respect.

Graphics great especialy on HD TV, story line good, great online.
Game imposible to complete for me, completing game does not get 100% need to do stupid extras like kill 200 pigions.
Needs more cheats.
Great game could play for a while, and play online too, well recommend GTA 4.

One of the best games I've ever played... a real leap forward in the free roaming rpg genre a small review like this could not hope to scratch the surface of whats possible in this game. You can play for ages and not even bother with the missions.. just go on a mad rampage or drive around in a fire engine spraying people and manically laughing! All I can say is pick up a copy you will not be disappointed and if you are boo-urns to you!

An unbelievable game - amazing depth and storyline with the sugary coating of slick visuals, great sound effects and a decent soundtrack.

Nothing beats diving out of a car, getting to your feet, pulling out an RPG and annihilating the guy from work who's been chasing you around.

Pure gold

This game is best when played on a HDTV as the graphics are a little blured, though the game has a great unique affect and is the most realistic so far, can leave you walking the streets with a different mind set so be careful, however well recommend GTA 4 for the PS3.

The best GTA by far, it blows san andreas away, its more realistic but still a gta game through and through. The story is rude and violent and brilliant, the voice acting is top notch and its great to play and just admire the graphical achievements. They may not be the best ever seen on ps3 but for a sandbox game you cant help but wonder how they did it.

Grand Theft Auto 4 for the PS3 was for me unfortunately not what I expected. People are arguing the game has not improved since previous predecessors, I personally would argue the game has fell below the GTA expected standard, instead of improving aspects of the game, there are many points of the gameplay missing. Not enough weapons like san andreas, not much to do after the game is complete.
The game is a great game for the graphics and the first time experience but after that it plays it self out, I preferred san andreas. Only good point for me is the great graphics I suppose therefore I do not recommend grand theft auto iv.

Grand Theft Auto 4 not a patch on San Andreas sorry.
Everyones raving about the graphics but it seems to be dark for three quarters of the game so they cant be appreciated fully. The driving is also annoying cos you cant really build up any speed without losing control or crashing.

I really cant see what all the fuss is about. Everyone bangs on about the graphics but if you compare them to call of duty then they aren't a patch on them. The gameplay has got worse in terms of sprinting, driving and shooting which is now slow and unresponsive and to be honest its a massive let down for me personally.

Graphics are one the best I have ever seen for the PS3... the most positive aspect of this game however for me is it's addicting factor.
The game is great thought and I well recommend it... I cant wait to go home and play it more. I'm about to take off of work all next week to play it.

Very realistic game, there are many that argue this game has not been much improved than previous versions. However in my opinion it has, OK its true to say the storyline, characterists and so on are still all developed under the same aspects and roles. But thats because its supposed to be..

Grand Theft Auto 4 is in my opinion not just great graphics, not just murderous action, not just entertaining gameplay... It is all of those things, but GTA 4 is actually cool.
GTA iv has managed to actually make this game so cool you will no longer feel embarrassed telling your mates that you spent last night playing a computer game. To be honest this applied to the previous Grand theft auto's but the hype created for this new game for ps3 was so immense it cant go un-noticed. I suppose not a ...

Personally do not like multiplayer on GTA 4, you get some idiots that do not really know what they are doing and just out there to annoy you. I love the graphics a little dark but I think this adds not only to the realism but the gangster storyline. Love the missions and everything to do with the gameplay. Couldnt fault it and well recommend it for the ps3, much better than for the 360 as far as I am concerned.

Gameplay is just incredible the entertainment factor is so high. The abilities are pretty much the same as previous versions of the GTA's but the vary in what you can do when you think about is so cool. I mean, you can do absolutely anything you want, its just like real life. I so recommend this GTA iv for the PS3, everyone raves about the graphics but for me they are a little dark and dull, very high detailed but not the best factor of this game in my opinion. Well recommended!

Grand Theft auto 4 is a great game, well recommend it for the PS3, yu must get it in my opinion. The graphics are just amazing, I know this has been said numerous times before but I cant stress how impressive the detail of everything is, it adds so much to the realism as it really is possibly the most positive point to the game. The driving view is for me the worst point to make as I find it difficult to see and therefore the driving is not as fun as I think it could be.

Everything from the graphics to the gameplay, the story was boring and the prostitutes were ugly in my opinion.
I wouldn't own this game if it was given to me with £100 from the company as far as I am concerned.
