Good Points: Good reception, Good battery life when charged. Can use normal high power rechagable AAA batteries when battery pack fails.

Bad Points: If the battery pack runs fails and you cant charge it and you can put rechargable batteries in, but you cannot charge it via the cradle. You have to remove the batteries and use a battery charger. The vox (handsfree) feature takes a bit of getting used to.

General comments: These walkie talkies have so far had good reception. Our daughter has been using them to keep in touch while playing out. Gives a bit peace of mind. We have also used them for when she is in bed, so that she is not getting out of bed a lot of times for silly reasons (I'm sure parents will relate to this). She can just stay in bed now and speak on the walkie talkie.

At less with £20 you could do a lot worse than the Binatone MR250.

Bought for my six year old son's birthday and he loves them. Cheaper than letting him loose with a mobile phone. The Binatone MR250s seem pretty sturdy and everything in the box was ready to go. Sound quality does vary but I would expect this on a two-way radio. Paid £20 for the pair which is not bad for the handsets plus neat pod style charging unit. I have seen them for the same price without the charging unit but including vox headsets. We felt that the charging unit was preferable. I w ...
