Doesn't fulfil the basic function of working! AVOID

Got this phone after my panasonic cordless twin phones sadly broke after a long time in use. It was cheaper and seemed a good deal, but I've had nothing but trouble with this diabolical product from day one and today it gets binned when I get something new!

Sound quality/volume - echo the problems identified by the previous reviews. Background hiss and crackle; picks up computer interference which is very inconvenient, or any other electrical equipment that is in quite a large radius inc. neighbour's tools two doors down! Often callers saying they couldn't hear me even if I could hear them, meaning I had to pay to call them back from my mobile! Volume way too quiet even on full pelt, and forget using hands free as inaudible and I have good hearing!

Recharging Problems - unlike my last phone the power does not last long. Sometimes the phone would not even charge after several hours of use. After a while the set just stopped charging properly and you'd get abotu 15 mins talk time on it then it would be dead and need hours to recharge again.

Answerphone - doesn't alwasys work, and sometime records your whole phonecall for you! Not easy to remove messages and fast forward between messages. Doesn't bleep, just flashes and doesn't always stop flashing even when you've check it.

General Ease of Use/features - won't go into detail but very difficult to find functions and not logical as most phones are. Doesn't display dates and times of calls either.

Problems/Durablity - after a few months, we started having problems on one set; youd' answer and could hear the caller but they couldn't hear you. This set therefore became of no use at all. So reduced to ONE set for a whole house I was constantly chasing round to find the one remaining set. This set then started to struggle on charging, now it only gives a few minutes talk time after hours of charge! Because of all the problems we had to get a second phone from BT and use mobiles.

I wouldn't recommend this and would certainly spend more on a new one than this one. Any economies in unit price have been outweighed by needign to spend more money on mobiles. It is a waste of space IMO.con.

I purchased the iDECT X1i Twin phones as I liked the look of them, very modern and slender looking. However that was really were the good points ended.

When they arrived I thought they felt cheap and very light plastic. The buttons also seemed cheap and poorly made.
Once I started to use them I realised that the sound quality wasnt very good - clarity was effected and a mild hissing was always in the background.

The menus are pretty like any other phone, phone book, sound options ect...

I found the iDECT X1i a little to complex for a land line phone. I also had problems right off the start with the second phone base not charging, also the answering machine had a mind of its own and would reactivate its self! Had poor sound quality, and could not go any closer than 5 feet to my computer with out getting interference while talking on the phone. All in all was not satisfied with this phone and ended up going back to a basic analogue, but up graded to a 5.8 Panasonic, night and day ...
