“Great value for money!”

★★★★☆

written by Gibbymama on 01/09/2012

I am really surprised to read so many negative reviews of the Hauck Jeep Infinity! I have been absolutely delighted with mine which I bought three years ago because it has both a front facing and rear facing option. The pram section is cosy with a hood and cover that really protects the baby from the elements, and the buggy is light, easy to manoeuver and recline for sleeping. The wheels all come off for neat stowing when travelling long distances with a full boot, or the frame collapses easily with wheels attached for shorter distances. We've flown with it a number of times, taken it with us when going for walks on uneven terrain and generally hammered it and still it is going with baby number two! I don't think it is being manufactured any longer but am writing this review in case anyone were thinking of buying second hand. As it was cheap in the first place (think I bought mine new for about £150) I imagine it will be extremely good value second hand, probably just needing a couple of new tyres. Oh, and all the material/canvas sections on both the pram and the buggy can, with a bit of determination(!), be unclipped and thrown into the washing machine, coming up like new. All in all, when you consider what you can pay for a pram/buggy these days, this has been a fabulous buy. My only criticism might be that the Jeep logo is a bit naff but really, who cares!

“Not recommended”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/05/2012

Before buying my Hauck I read reviews which I must say were mixed. I decided to buy one. I had it a matter of months when the front wheel fell off and upon inspection, the nut had worked loose and was lost. I managed a DIY repair to have it happen again. I was offered another Hauck which was dissapointing as the frame was so flimsy I didn't dare put my baby in it. Looking back on the reviews I read, they were negative about the wheels and frame so I can now say I wish I had took note of and not dismissed. A real shame as the look and comfort of the pram are great but mechanically if you like, I would not recommend. Back to the good old Maclaren!

Excellent pram and pushchair combo! I had no problems with this pushchair and used it for both my sons. Those people who are complaining about it either got dud ones or just were thrashing it around too much and not looking after it!!!!

This pram is brilliant! Excellent value for money. My son is nine months old now and I've NEVER had a problem with it! Very easy to steer, comes with carrycot and parent/rear facing seat unit and carseat which also clips onto the pram so excellent for all ages! Padded out so my son is very comfortable in it. I don't have any complaints about it at all! Great pram!

I purchased my travel system content that I had received value for money. However on use of the pram and pushchair, I soon found difficulty with the steering of the wheels. They often went out of line and it was impossible to progress forwards. This was followed by the 'locking system on the chassis which keeps the frame up when in use 'SNAPPING' and bringing my daughter tumbling down to the floor. Very disappointed and not what you would expect when investing £260. This pushchair did not receive excessive use or abuse.

After searching on the internet for hours I finally bought the Hauck Infinity because it was a rear facing and forward facing pram. I also thought it was a good name with prams these days, as it has been a while since I last bought such things. But I was obviously wrong - at first the front wheels keept jamming and then only after 7 months of having the pram it snapped with my son in it and collapsed to the ground whilst crossing the road. The locking system to keep the frame up when it is in use had snapped - Luckily my son was ok and unhurt and for once my husband had used the crossing so the traffic had to wait for him. But my husband had to carry the pram and my son all the way home. (Not something I would have been able to do)

written by Nikkiboo on 18/04/2009

This Hauck Jeep Infinity Pushchair is absolutely terrible. Within 3 months of owning it, the two screws connecting the handlebar to the main frame came out. This meant it was dangerous to use as the handlebar could easily come apart from the frame. I had to wait 9 months for replacement screws from Hauck. I used it again for my second child, but within 3 months of using it again, the frame completely broke. My 3 month old baby was in the pushchair at the time, but luckily was unhurt. I contacted Hauck about the problems I had encountered, and the only response I received was a rude email, with no apology, stating that the guarantee only lasted 6 months. Well, that says it all.

“I searched high and low for a reasonably priced buggy...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 04/12/2008

I searched high and low for a reasonably priced buggy that i could have my child in so he was facing me. I was amazed and immediately bought the Jeep Infinity buggy. When i first used it, i was amased on how easy it is to push and get around. Lets put it this way, when i had to use my Graco buggy and walked down the road, my legs were aching and i was exhasted and i normaly a fairly fit person. After a while the front wheels started sticking although i looked after the buggy and made sure it was clean, and from the wheels sticking, it would leave scuff marks on the wheels making them slightly flat what means a more of a bumpy ride for my baby. My main problem with this buggy is that whilst trying to get in to my front door the movable handle bar came off at 1 of the hinges on the side and all the pieces went on the main road. I have contacted Jeep personally as it was a horrible experiance and there could have been an accident not even worth thinking about! After my partner collect the pieces to try and fix the buggy we knew it was impossible. At the end of this i would like to mention the difficulty that this has caused me ..... Jeep told me to take the buggy back to the retailer so they can fix it what would take a week minimum. So when i am at home i can't go anywhere as i don't drive and my partner works long hours. Jeep won't supply me with another pushchair until mine is fixed and i can not really afoord to get a replacement buggy but i am left with no other choice. A long feed back message i know but i hoped this has helped.

Very easy to manouevre one handed, a tight turning circle and easy to collapse, and put up. I like that the pushchair can be forward or rear facing, and it is easy to attach the car seat to the chassis (our chassis clips have always been secure). It looks great and my little one has used it from birth - now 21 month and will continue to do so. It is quite a large chassis, but fits in my VW Polo boot ok!
You have to take the pushchair bit off the chassis before collapsing if you have it rear facing. Love it and would recommend it to anyone.

The car seat can detach from the chassis without warning. The clips that hold the fixing brackets on to the chassis are completely inadequate. My grandson was very lucky when the seat of the Hauck Jeep Infinity Pushchair Stroller fell off backwards.

Linseykinsella's Response to dmarcer's Review

I disagree with this review because...i loved this travel system and the seat is very secure if you ensure it is fitted properly you do have to double check but is excellent as you can face it both ways and the car seat is wonder ful to fit onto the frame rather than just onto the pushchair, the thing i also found invaluable for my babies spine was the carry cot which i also used instead of a moses basket as it was sturdier and lasted alot longer.
