I had the said product installed 3/4 years ago. However my taps ,Showers, glass, etc have a white limey coating on them. I find this hard to remove and I feel it should not happen as the cost of installing it was 1,400Euro. It was very neatly installed so no complaints there.

Hadsoftener for 4 months but not worked for past 4 weeks of that. When did work water was SO horribly soft was like washing in an oil slick. Did not enjoy at all. Since stopped was pleased to have normal water again but disappointed that the engineer cannot visit for a few weeks and conscious that the pipes need the softener. Would not recommend as seems a little more costly than I had expected for the salt - especially as, if not under guarantee it is over £80 to csll engineer - yet another gaqdget draining money despite the possible benefits. Wish we had not ventured into this - think carefully before deciding to have one fitted.

From what I have read I do not think there is any doubt that Kinetico is the best and it is certainly the most expensive. We had the 2020c fitted. We had local suppliers UKH20 and were not impressed; it was very much like dealing with a double glazing salesman where in the end you bought the product to get him off our back, but not really convinced that what he was telling us was true. Every time we made a decision (e.g to remain with hardwater on the outside taps, the fitting cost went up. We have never heard from UKH20 since fitting - not even for them to ask if it worked as we expected. We went ahead because of the "massive" benefits in the blurb. It does work and there are small benefits such as a clean shower screen, less washing liquid, and a shower spray that has not clogged in the 2 months since the softener was fitted. The dishwasher, however, without salt or rinse aid made the glasses milky. The salt blocks in the water softener are expensive. This cost nearly £2000 with fitting and if we had realised that so little benefit would have been achieved we would never have had the installation.

My Kinetico water softener is 14 years old and, until now, has been trouble free. 10 weeks ago the water began to run hard and I called out my local Kinetico Engineer. He checked it over, ran a manual generation to one tank only, told me the salt was not dropping all the way down in the holder, charged me £54 and went. 3 weeks later the water was running hard again but, with Christmas coming up I put up with it until early in the New Year. He returned, ran a double regeneration this time, replaced three small seals, charged me another £54 and went. Three days later the water is STILL running hard.

I have owned a Kenetico 2020c for about 7 years. The machine works well and its compact size means it fits comfortably into an undersink cupboard. The downsides are that the case is very flimsy and the hinges on the salt reservoir have had to be replaced twice. The many valves that are within the machine also wore out after 7 years meaning that I had an exceptionally high water bill one quarter as water was simply running through the machine to the drain. The parts for the repair were covered by the long warranty but I had to pay the labour (£90). The cost of the block salt is quite high but I guess that is typical of water softeners in general.

The water softener runs fine, but it took a grand total of 6 whole weeks to finally get an appointment time scheduled to replace the drinking water filters! After a lot of phone calls the date was set, and then we received a call on the set date, saying the date was mixed up and it would be another day ! You're running a business here....how about a little organized professionalism? Let's see if the tech. actually shows up! Frustrating!!!!

We’re very sorry to hear that you haven’t had a good after-sales experience.
At Kinetico we take any complaints about sales, service or our dealer network very seriously, and would ask that you contact us so we can discuss your issue and remedy any problems going forward.
We look forward to speaking to you to ensure this never happens again.

I THINK THIS A GOOD PRODUCT BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE FINAL PAY OFF I WAS TO BLIVE IT WAS PAID FOR AFTER 10 YEARS BUT NOT SO AND THE SERVICE IS SOMETHING TO IMPROVE ON. THEY WHERE HERE ONE TIME IN 10 YEARS OR EVEN TO FOLLOW UP.

Since I had it installed it has stopped working 9 or 10 times. Most of the times the person responsible for selling and installing it came to fix the problem and three times an engineer from Kinetico came and fixed the problem. When it works it is wanderful but it breaks down too often for my liking. Is 10 times in 3 years too many? The support has been very good but it is very frustrating to suddenly finding that your water is no longer soft. There is 10 years parts only garantee but what will happen after that, will I have to start and keep paying for faults that were never fixed for good? Ir really is not good enough. That is why I would not recommend it to a friend. It is probably value for money but I am really fed up. It has just stopped working again and waiting to talk to the manager of the shop I bought it from; he fixed it only a few weeks ago and he is probably quite fed up too.

I've owned Kinetico's for over thirty years, and they don't go wrong... very often. My major gripe is with the lack of support. Specifically, I would have to disagree with the positive comments made re. the quality of service provided by PH of Lincoln. I found they were unhelpful in servicing my existing machine, and very keen to sell a new one. Kinetico themselves were of no help in suggesting alternatives for repair.
Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to buy an inferior machine, and replace it in three years. Easily done, and just as effective.

Good product but uses far too much salt - 1 block (8kg) every three weeks. We are family of three living in two bedroom flat.

It seems to me that this person miss understands how watersoftening works.
Typical usage of salt is based on water usage, not the size of the property, the average person uses about 200 liters per day ( children just as much) and typical salt usage will ammount to 1 4 kg brick per person per month, so 8kg(2 bricks) in 3 weeks for three os pretty good.
Tha money that will be saved on soap powder alone (75% of usual ammount) will cover the cost of the salt, all other savings, which are many, will come off of the purchase price.

I am sorry to hear that you did not feel that the experience of getting a softener was as you thought it would be. This is certainly not how we do business and I can only apologise if you feel that our sales person was like a double glazing salesman. Can I ask if you purchased this though the Worthing office or the Bournemouth office so that I can ensure that your comments are passed on to the appropriate company for a response.

Apologies - I have only just been re authorised to use this site. Your salesman was from Worthing and, by the way, he was also very forceful with the poor plumber. The plumber didn't finish an outside fitting properly and the salesman made him go back that night 11.00 pm to fix the problem and come back with our money - or else ! This really wasn't necessary nor was it a pleasant way to conduct business. Also, we established from our own plumber that only small bore pipes had been fitted causing lack of pressure problems in the downstairs basin and shower. Finally, we have had no follow up from UKh20, to ask if we are happy with the installation , have any problems etc. I doubt after writing this that anybody will - but we are really quite nice people and feel that we have paid over the odds for not a particularly well done job.

Dear JDhayling, can you please email me direct or call me so that I can talk to you further and try to understand what the problems were. As I only have your user name then I need to check where and when the installation occurred. Many thanks
