I bought a Mocad trolley a few years ago and this week have finally given up on it. I looked after the trolley and cleaned it every week after use. It did not get over-used as in Summer I prefer to carry my bag. I had to have a new frame because the original one cracked at the welds, a new motor because the original one packed up, a new on-off switch which should have cost £2-3 but cost £35+ because "we've changed the design" and you need a complete new handle, I've had 2 sets of "gears" that go on the wheels (one came free under warranty) and now I need a new left wheel because the rubber outer won't stay on! There is also a red button that you need to press to allow you to fold the handle down, which has broken. I enquired about a replacement from Mocad in Bromley and they wanted £7.50 plus P&P for an item that can only cost pennies. After what I have spent with them I expected a free one but after calling them and putting a case forward, they never got back to me. During a call to complain about the overall quality of their product, they suggested that what I should do was buy a new one from them. Chance!!! This is without a doubt the worst purchase of a new item that I have ever made. It has continually either gone wrong or let me down and I have now gone and bought a Motocaddy. Mocad should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for selling a product that purports to be a quality golf trolley, but is nothing of the kind. If my experience with Mocad is anything to go by, anyone considering purchasing one should only do so if they can get an extended warranty - about 5 years.

I have found the mocad battery to be most unsatisfactory. I bought my mocad in Dec. 09 and starded using it in March 2010. The battery died a death in June 2010 and received a replacement battery in June 2010. I played on average twice a week but did not play in December or Jan. Mr replacement battery died a death in March this year. I believe that this is a product that cannot be trusted and would encourage people to source their golf trollies and batteries with ayyone3 else other than mocad products.

Just off the phone to their customer services, and would you guess what for, a new clutch and battery. The guy at the other end knew the faults right away, brilliant if the part were free, but a total of £80 for a trolly that has not been used more than 15 times in the same amount of months is disgraceful and not acceptable.
I tried to explain, that it is possible I will in the future mention, to say ten people about buying a electric trolly, and what a hammering I will give Mocad. The outcome to Mocad, a loss of potential business of approx £2500 against a good customer services dept who could replace these parts that were not fit for purpose in the first place.
Go on keep ripping people off as you are and the name Mocad will be well gone in 5 years

This is a not fit for purpose trolley and should be withdrawn from the market. All the problems that you read below I have with my mine and if I had kept the documentation for the switches , motor, control unit, 3 batteries and clutches which I have had to replace in three years of limited use, off course most of the time!, then I would take Mocad to court using the Sale of Good Acts 1973.

would never buy a mocad trolley from mocad again, customer service is so bad, purchased a reconditioned one with 6 month guarantee, after a month had a new clutch kept veering to the left, decided to send back and purchase a brand new one, they never gave me full money back, on it knocked £25 off, now i know it was for the postage of sending it back to them so out of pocket £25. didnt reimbuse me untill trolley had been returned. THEY ARE SOO RUDE ON THE PHONE, DONT KNOW WHY THEY ARE TRADING!!!!

I and some of my friends bought Mocads from our pro shop about 3 years ago and I am one of the few still using it as the others have had enough. I am using their discarded ones for spares. Batteries 6, drive shafts 3, electical repairs numerous and the motor bracket snapped last week. I had to make a mounting bracket to fix it. It could be a brilliant trolley with a bit more effort but made in China so no hope there.

The umbrella holder is not fit for purpose as it does not grip the handle and renders it useless in slight breeze or undulating terrain. On complaining I received no feedback and even writing to the Managing Director prooved fruitless in any communication

I brought a Mocad Series 3 at the London golf show in May 2009. I have now used the trolley eight times, and the plastic coating on the wheels is splitting with the foam padding inside coming out. The customer service at Mocad is appalling. Their answer just seems to be send it back and we will look at it. I assume they are having numerous complaints as it is impossible to speak with anybody.
Please, take my advice and do not buy this trolley.

Do not waste your money pay the extra and buy quality is what i would recommend. Have owned one for just under 3 years and its like Triggers sweeping brush. 3 new axles, 3 new batteries and they dont come cheap, although I will say the first battery was replaced under warrenty. I have had to weld parts on to hold the drive motor together to make it more stable. You have been warned leave well alone

This trolley has been a real false economy as I purchased it three years ago for £200 but have spent the sane again on batteries. I could have bought a Powakaddy for £360 and still been on the first battery.
The website informs one that you can keep the battery on charge continuously but the sales team do not recommend this. The battery will blow.

Battery packed up after thirteen months phoned mocad sorry had to buy new battery but this one improved version more powerfull thirteen months later battery failed again gladly sell me new battery again but not interested otherwise so don't buy mocad unless you want to buy a battery every year.

I also had problem with the axle snapping. Managed to get replacement and have it fixed but the gearing on one of the wheels was non existant causing the trolley to keep veering to one side.

I bought a MOCAD 2 from Comet. I had 3 switches, 2 Speed Control Units and 2 Batteries. It then totally Burnt Out. Took it back to Comet and told them to put it in the Skip. I would never buy another and would think very hard before ever buying from Comet for any item.

I would recommend that you do not buy this produce. I finally left it at Comet, Kiddermisnter and told them they could put if their skip. The product was unreliable and service level I received dismal. Not quite sure why I gave it even 1 our of 10. Comet have certainly lost business from me on other products.

Found myself fighting to keep control of the MOCAD 2 on side hills (narrow wheel base) and whilst going up hill I have to watch it does not tip backwards. I too like most people that have bought this trolley had wished that I spent just that little more money on a popular brand make which is what I am now in the process of doing, so all in all my advice is to spend your money just once after all it the difference between a Lada or a VW.

Good fundamental design. Unreliable electronics result in on/off switch has to be operated several times before it goes. Trolley returned after 4 weeks as it failed to start and returned with a new without any change but a new battery (the original was ok) but faulty starting occurred within a short period of time. Mocad claimed that there was nothing wrong with it when returned. Telephone conversations are not handled well with aggressive responses and a failure to accept responsibility. I would not recommend you buy one (mine came from Comet and they should stop selling them). Good design spoiled by bad customer service and poor quality electronics

You get what you pay for. I bought mine at Comet , they should know better.
After sales are ok but make sure you list every number off the cart , its not clear what is wanted.

I would never buy another. Electrical connections look lightweight and after 2 batteries, 2 control units and 2 switches I still have a Mocad that surges, stops and is generally a paid in the bum to use.
