Undoubtedly a great forum for technical assistance. But forget voicing your opinions on the forum if they go against what the Moderators believe. Made up of a team of ridiculously pedantic and condescending egotists. I'll leave them to themselves. View the forums by all means for techy assistance.. but speak out loud and thou shalt be stoned until dead. Pathetic. (read more)

I think it's a fantastic site, don't know what the other 2 reviewers are on about, I can only assume they simply couldn't or wouldn't stick by the rules. I've been using the site for 4 years and none of the mods are over 50. A great help site, they sorted my BB problem out when VM didn't give a toss. Plenty of people with different skills and abilities. (read more)

Terrible mods. The majority are 50+ power happy toss pots. Editing and erasing willy nilly. The sooner they realise they have been given a Mod title to get them to do something for free the better for all. (read more)

I was suspended from posting after a dispute over a link I posted. The link was to a directory of internet TV channels wwitv.com . This web TV directory has been established for over 10 years, and is a fully legal site that has the full cooperation of the channels it links to. I was eventually banned from the site after re-registering in order to try and defend myself/question their decision. It seems the moderation team will not listen to reason, and delete all content that questions their... (read more)

I have read your review chrishoggy and you were rightfully banned for publicly bringing the forums into disrepute. It is not right for members of a forum to argue and question the people who run it, use of any forum is a privilege and not a right, some people seem to forget this. I have been to the website in question and having read their terms and conditions, they do have an appeal process, you appear not to of appealed through the proper channels and I do not blame any moderator banning someone for arguing with them publicly like that. You should of discussed the matter in private with them.
But thanks for providing the link to this forum, It looks like a good forum, think I might register.

Although I agree with your comment about "use of any forum is a privilege and not a right" , these are "public" discussion boards. I do fully understand how these things work as I moderate on several forums, as well as running my own sites and forums. Your comment that I was banned for "publicly bringing the forums into disrepute" is a little bizarre, and untrue. There was no "public" argument, no flaming, or posting of any banned content. Written proof (from the owner of wwitv.com) that the link I posted was legal and complied with all known laws, was not enough for them. Like I said in my review, the moderation team are either misinformed on the legalities of web TV broadcasts, or they are instructed to remove links to them (something not mentioned in their terms). Yes the terms state there is a right of appeal , but in reality this right does not exist (as I found out). Moderators should not act on personal opinions on matters relating to legality of posts, they should act on the T&C of the site and facts. If they are unable to to this, then they are not acting in the best interests of the board they are moderating.
I and many 1000's of others find this site very useful and informative. But in my opinion, the site is lacking in it's appeals, knowledge base (used for moderating) and moderating system as a whole.

I am sorry but nothing you have said makes me think otherwise. You were rightfully banned. You did not go through the proper appeal process, you started to publicly argue with them, regardless if you feel you are right or wrong, no moderator or forum owner is going to allow for someone to start arguing with the moderators like that publicly and if you are a moderator yourself, you will know that you are not there to justify your decisions to anybody. You also seem to forget that a moderator has every right to move or delete anything with or without an explanation their terms and conditions also points this out.

I've been registered on this forum a few days now and I think its a great forum and I have no issues with any of the moderators but then again, I haven't started to argue with them over any decisions they had made. This is where you got off on the wrong footing.

My experience with the forum was similar.
There are techy people there who can answer questions which have a factual answer but anything else is going to have a virgin bias to it. Mention something bad about virgin and straight away they attack virgin and the poster.
Do not go to the site if you want a truthful unbiased opinion.
