i have finally had my 5 year old model taken away for recycling vowing never to buy another AEG - was it bad luck that the door handle came off after 3 years and costing me nearly £90? Was it bad luck a bolt dislodged itself and got stuck between the drum and the casing causing 2 sets of paddles to burst off - another £70 . The bolt caused drum damage and the cost of replacing the drum and paddles is £450 . This is a product by a supposedly great engineering firm - perhaps AEG are no longer so great. I would have been better off with a Candy .

The AEG Lavamat 16810 door handle came off after 5 yearsNow after 6 years all the paddles inside the drum have all come off during a fast spin. I have to replace the whole drum . It is so expensive that it is cheaper to buy a new machine. AEG no longer live up to the reputation they once had , what a shame. They still charge though . I am now going for the cheapest option ,

I would not recommend this AEG Lavamat 16810. I have "enjoyed" far too many callouts due to a common blockage problem. AEG are usually excellent but this machine is severely lacking.

There is a fault called an E20, had 4 callouts in one year costing £350, as past the warranty (now an old machine) I have also found the bearings inside the AEG Lavamat 16810 need replacing - am told it would be cheaper to buy a new machine! I have always bought from this manufacturer in the past - this model sadly lets AEG down.

Had the AEG Lavamat 16810 4-5 years now - used 2-3 times most weeks, and have no hesitation in recommending it.Some new technology coming out from Siemens and LG - so an automatic replacement of like with like is not guaranteed. But in lieu of those others being as good as the AEG, then replacing with the current version when the time came, would be a no-brainer.

Constant E20 blockage problems with regular loads on my AEG Lavamat 16810. Should have dealt with a family with 3 children comfortably, but have lost count at the number of call-outs, mostly under warranty thankfully. After having now paid again for unblocking inside the machine, £65 standard ServiceForce callout, the drum bearings on the machine have gone after 3 years usage. I brought this as a top of the range model - what an expensive waste of money! After having brought AEG in th ...

The main thing about this AEG washer dryer is that it is delivering results - for me it represents excellent value for money!

A disaster of a machine and I've always bought AEG in the past. Initially the infamous E20 fault was due to a solid glob of sealant -type material in the drain tube. Removed it and it worked fine for a few washes, then the E20 problem started in earnest. There is no blockage nor anything wrong with the physical state of the machine and the drain tube is not obstructed. It is a design fault of some sort, probably the control board, and these machines should have been withdrawn from the market. Af ...

I have had the AEG Lavamat 16810 washer dryer for 2 years, and the spin problem has been appalling. I am on the verge of getting rid of it and buying another. The dryer works well though.

This seems to be near identical inside to a relative's Zanussi machine, but the AEG seems better made and the controls are far easier to understand. Had lousy service from the shop (365 Electrical - the item was delivered damaged) but once correctly installed the machine seems to work competently. The pump for the spray inside the drum developed a rattle briefly - this must have been something small trapped inside and seems to have worked it's way out. This is a very small niggle - otherwise ver ...
