“Excellent for the hunt”

Written on: 17/12/2013 by SaifulHasan1 (7 reviews written)

The perfect weapon for silent old timers like my dad and me. I have around cross bows since I was a kid and I gifted one of these to my dad and he seems to have fallen in love with it. The old man and me are both grateful for such an impressive bit of weaponry… Read Full Review

A very good crossbow, but I agree about the limbs cracking, mine is about 5 years old and one of the limbs cracked today. What a bummer. Definitely get a limb warranty if you can… Read Full Review

Bought SL 175 four years ago. Took 8 bucks, 2 each year, one doe. Also
several turkeys. Actually liked it so well I bought my son one for Xmas.
He has taken at least 4 good bucks and one doe. Best buy I ever made in
hunting equipment. Thanks to Horton. Two bucks scored 170 and 165!!!… Read Full Review

I've had the Horton Legend SL about 4 to 5 years and have had no problem with it. I purchased it with the scope mount for 310$ where wal-mart had it for 398$. I've put the Horton crossbow scope on it and it shoots accurate and flat at 30 yards and i have the target called the block. It will almost bury the arrows up to the feathers at 30 yards, very strong bow. It's a great bow for the money. I had a Horton Steelforce bow that was a cheaper crossbow but dont buy it cause it kept breaking the… Read Full Review

Written on: 30/06/2009 by fgarvin (1 review written)

warning - this started out to be an excellent crossbow but after 4 years the limb are known to crack which makes the bow very dangerous. horton will not replace the limbs after 3 years even though this seems very defective and dangerous. don't consider a horton without a limb warranty or you'll be screwed within a few years - limb replacement is a cost of a new bow… Read Full Review

“I did a lot of shopping before choosing the Horton...”

Written on: 09/03/2007 by CXD4 (2 reviews written)

I did a lot of shopping before choosing the Horton Legend SL. It had the best combination of weight -- 6.5 lbs., speed -- 300fps, and price -- $299. Since purchasing it in 2001 I've taken 3 deer and 3 elk with this bow. It shoots right through deer and almost through elk at 35 yards. I've rarely make it to the gun season. The string looks almost perfect after all the shooting I've done , always using plenty of wax on the string and Vaseline on the cables where they cross. I know this is an… Read Full Review

Fgarvin's Response to CXD4's Review

I disagree with this review because...HORTON DOES NOT HAVE A LIFETIME ON THE LIMBS...JUST THREE YEARS AND THEY WILL CRACK SOON AFTER THAT. AND YOUR SCREWED BUYING A WHOLE NEW CROSSBOW.
