I would certainly not recommend using the AA. I have changed instructor 2 times. My first instructor was rude and very poor. I had 10 lessons with him and we did not even leave the town I live in. I then had great difficulty changing to another instructor. The instructor I have at the moment is better than the previous but still rude and short tempered. AA Driving School really let me down. I am sure that they have some very good instructors but, they one that I had was so abusive I was reduced to tears at one point. To begin with I thought maybe they just trying to be funny, when it got to the point where I was being called names and I was having to listen to the instructor shout at other drivers too, I knew that this was not normal!!! Today I passed my driving test with 5 minor errors, having taken 47 driving lessons with the AA Driving School ( I should add that I am 36 years old and had no previous experience behind the wheel of the car). Good things: finding an instructor through the AA is easy, you can do it through the website which is simple to navigate. The pricing of lessons is clear. After being with alot of driving schools and not being comfortable with any of them, i decided to try the AA and it was the best decision i'd ever made, i had the best and loveliest instructor and the AA customer service was first class. They are polite, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I have reccommended them to anyone who wants to learn to drive. Learning to drive through the AA proved quick and easy for me, passing first time in under 5 months and only having one lesson a week. My driving instructor was very professional and made me feel at ease which helped build my confidence when it came to driving. I would definately recommend the AA and I know my mum will use them again for my sister. It was costly but also definately paid off to buy lessons in bulk saving money per lesson overall. Having taken 30+ lessons with an independent driving instructor who failed to address my errors, I was fed up after failing my second driving test. I thus contacted the AA and was quickly contacted by an AA driving instructor. After 10 lessons I passed the driving test. My driving instructor was patient and relaxed at all times even when i first started out. He would always explain manouverers in a way that was practical and easily applied. Extremely punctual and always seemed keen to get started (even as a last lesson of the day). I booked a lesson with AA and payed for it online, the money came out of my account straight away, but a day before I was due to have the lesson I got an email telling me I needed to ring them about it, it took me ages (and a lot of money) to find out why, I was pretty much told I was refused lessons from that instructor because am a 17 year old female, I was offered lessons with the only other instructor but would have had to wait ages (although on ringing for a second time they did refund... My driving instructor was so friendly and he made me feel at ease whilst driving. since i started drive with AA i had 25 hours driving and i passed my test from the first time. i am quiet happy with everything, but the driver was slowing me down. if he wouldn't do that - i would be ready after 15 lessons. but there was many lessons when we was doing nothing, just driving around the town. those extra 10 hours was just for getting extra money. 3 out of 5 :) not too bad. My first instructor - was often late between 10-20 min (only sometimes texting me to tell me so), messed with his phone nearly all lesson, cut lessons short, hardly actually taught much driving except the very basics.
