I used the Meet & Greet service, however the parking change had been taken from my car at some point. I do not feel like they investigated the matter and they refused to refund me without indisputable proof the money had been there when I dropped the car off and were not even prepared to speak to their staff about it. Disgusting. I have raised the matter with the police and trading standards, if enough people do this perhaps we can get them out of business. (read more)

“Returned car damaged”

Absolutely shocking service. We had to wait in the freezing cold both ways for the driver to pick up our car and to drop it off. Also when they dropped the car off it had a massive crack in the windscreen! They point blank refuse to accept liability and "suggested" that there was a chip there already which got worse with the frost. My car is less than 6 months old! I now have to get a new windscreen. Horrible service, horrible people. (read more)

I took my vehicle to Gatwick on the 9th and collected on the 19th, everything went well until I collected the vehicle to find the vehicle had broken down and lost its gears during the stay with Ace. This was nothing to do with anything Ace did but by continuing to drive the vehicle the clutch burnt out. I believe the Ace driver was not aware of the damage caused by doing so but after clarifying matters with the company's MD we came to an amicable agreement and settled the matter (read more)

28/10 - Arrived Gatwick North 5am. Handed keys over and left car with them. 05/11 - Returned to Gatwick North (about hour later than scheduled) at 2am. “Fantastic Efficient Service”

I would highly recommend this service. We telephoned when we were on our way to the airport and the driver was there waiting for us when we pulled up at the terminal. We were met at the drop off point, by a very polite driver. We unloaded our cases and walked straight into the terminal. Returning to the UK, we telephoned as we came through customs and by the time we got outside the terminal our car was ready and waiting. Straight forward,hassle free,easy way to park at Gatwick. Booking process very easy and very reasonable prices. Took us almost 10 minutes to get through to them on the phone when approaching Gatwick, but the guy was waiting when we arrived and provided a very friendly and professional handover. He offered us the option of getting the car valeted inside and out while we were away for £20, and as my car was due a clean I accepted. We've used this service twice now when going away on holiday with our 2 kids (Ages 4 & 2). Its stressful enough ensuring that you've packed everything, getting the kids ready and then loading the car with all of the cases, pushchairs, car seats and remembering the passports, to then find a space, unload the car and often have to get shuttle buses to the terminal. In the past we've used long term parking at Gatwick that's situated a couple of miles outside of gatwick and then get the bus... (read more)

“Waited 75 minutes for car to be delivered back to me!”

It took me 20 minutes to get through to them on the phone once I landed at Gatwick, then it took a further 55 minutes for them to deliver the car to the pick up point. A complete waste of time. Would have been MUCH quicker to and cheaper to pay in the longstay and get the bus. (read more)

i did wonder whether this firm were any good, having looked at the other reviews (but only after i booked)!

Rest assured, our experience was positive for both drop off and pick up. I don't mind that the car did 20 miles whilst I was away, the important thing is the communication and the car being returned undamaged and pronto when you need it. On that score all went well with the only glitch being our flight being cancelled and my email about that not being passed on to the return driver.... (read more)

When the car was delivered back we were advised by a member of their staff that it had been vandalised.
Car driven backwards and forwards to airport and delivered back to customer in un-roadworthy condition.
Ace knew of and had allegedly reported internally re car's un-roadworthy condition did not report to customer.
Reported to Ace, nothing for two weeks then rebuttal of claim. Car fixed at that point.

<br/>OK, when we delivered [name removed]'s 10 year old vehicle back to him a complaint was made regarding the wiper blade system had failed and his wiper blade was located on his passenger seat, since this I have conducted a thougher investigation and after interview with my staff concluded the failure of the wiper blade system was due to mechanical failure and although I have agreed the failure did occur whilst in ace parkings care the fault was nothing more than a mechanical failure caused by a fouling of the wiper blades due to the misalignment of the wiper arms , I mean lets be honest about it, why would any one break into ace car park holding 600 cars and vandalism a single cars wiper blade system, further more anyone with any technical knowledge of vehicles would realize it would be impossible to "vandalse a wiper motor as this is a very robust unit housed inside the car ...?

<br/>In short I have simple asked for [name removed] to provide an engineer or and mechanic report stating what [name removed] is accusing us of as I do not believe [name removed] is qualified to make such accusations, and for these accusations to be taken as fact. There is no doubt in my mind that [name removed] is a most unreasonable individual.

<br/>If you make an allegation, it is UP to the claimant (author) of the allegations to prove this beyond reasonable doubt and require evidence in support, it is not for the defendant to prove the claimants allegations are untrue as the defendant is not making the allegations, as in this case your statements of vandalism and parking cars on streets are based on fiction and not on fact which has been demonstrated by the statement made by [name removed] in his previous posting and states " if ace can prove they do not park cars on streets he will withdraw his comments". This clearly shows [name removed]'s statement is based on fiction and speculation by the very nature [name removed] doesn't understand when making allegations you must support evidence to back up your claims and no evidence has been forth coming, I believe his comments regarding this have undermined his position and vindicates ace from any wrong doing and remove any doubt that [name removed]'s claims are clearly untrue and liable.

<br/>In the absence of any physical or written evidence I have had to rely on the facts that I could obtain and my conclusion had to be based on a detailed description made by Ace staff, you admit in your posting you have provided ace with no evidence oral or otherwise to assist in your claim. As a mechanic I have repaired many vehicles, I can speak from experience that wiper blade systems can fail due to misaligned wiper arms and a number of other reasons, when this occurs it can cause damage in the form of bent/snapped wiper blades and bent wiper arms due to the mechanical nature of the wiper rotation (Left to right) across the windscreen and further damage can occur within the mechanism housed under the engine cowling, damage that can be attributed like this is rare in affecting the wiper motor but in extreme cases the wiper motor can burn out due to the extra load caused by a failure of this kind, that said a failure to the wiper motor is rare but not impossible, what is almost impossible is vandalism to a unit of this type, unless you unbolted and dismantled a failure to a wiper motor has to be attributed to a mechanical/electrical failure and that is that.! Based on this fact and accounts describing the failure to me whilst ace was using the wiper blade system of this car under normal operating conditions I have made a determination that the most likely reason for the damage and failure to the wiper blade system was mechanical failure and as this does not fall under the remit of ace parkings responsibility then the claim for compensation was rejected.
<br/>
<br/>Ace have simple asked for evidence to support this customers claims, a detailed report from an elected engineer or mechanic explaining why this MUST be vandalism and not mechanical failure, if this had been provided to a satisfactory standard, even if it was not conclusive then ace would have made a compensation offer.!

<br/>I do not believe requested evidence to support an accusation as unreasonable nor do I believe ace should be accused of things they clearly have not done nor should ace be reported to agency's for I don't no what, when all I(ace) have requested, pleaded with this customer is evidence to support his claims. As a public forum and to still show wiliness Ace are prepared to add that even now, in the back lash of all the untrue comments this customer made that if he is forth coming with evidence than can validate his claim and be prepared to remove the untrue comments made on these public review sites then I would look favourable at a compensation offer.

Hello I would like to hear from you regarding your experience with Ace. I have had similar problems and Ace have denied all liability. They caused consequential damage to my clutch when their driver drove my vehicle after a gear linkage failure. They then returned my vehicle to me un drivable and told me "he gears failed the previous week and he struggled to get it back to me in 3rd and 4th gear only my gearbox or clutch is Knackered (This was his terminology). He then went on to say "i hope you haven't got far to go" and when I said Gloucester he simply replied "good luck" and left me and my partner there stranded with 3 suit cases and a broken down vehicle. just what you want after a 8 hour flight!

(Name removed) says this is normal wear and tear and as my 4 yr old vehicle has higher than average mileage that must be the cause.

I would be happy to discuss your experience of Ace.

In a couple of words....DONT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!

Though being given instructions on how to lock and unlock the car using the alarm these were ignored, and on top they lost the alarm fob leaving my car unprotected against theft and damage (insurance purposes). Despite this they were happy for me to drive it home (over 3 hours away) and couldnt see anything wrong with them losing the alarm fob "it happens" apparently...

<br/>OK, this customer returned around 5-am in the morning, unfortunately due to a genuine mistake Ace misplaced the alarm fob, a major contributing factor was that the alarm fob case was broken and because of this would not attach to the car key ring, as a result whilst key managing 600 other keys the alarm fob fell out of ace,s key pouch ace had allocated for this key , a genuine mistake that any HUMAN BEING can make. Due to this ace had to open the door with the car key thus causing the alarm to activate, this was a standard scorpion alarm that repeatedly went off in 30 second intervals but as it was a cheap version it did not immobilize the car thus making it annoying to drive but NOT undriveble. After explaining the problem to the customer(for over 45 minutes) ACE confirmed that if the alarm fob could not be found ACE would compensate for this customers loss in the form of a replacement alarm fob however the alarm fob was found 18 hours later and the following day the customers was informed and the fob was duly returned to the customer, "I find this important fact conveniently missing from this biased review". Surprise surprise.!
<br/>I also fail to understand how ACE have left this car unsecured as all our car parks are secure, further more ACE had to operate the car whilst the alarm remained constantly armed and sounding due to the inability for ace to switch off the alarm so how can this make the car unsecured....???? Maybe the author of this review can enlighten us as if you think about it, when the car was not in use and the door was locked the alarm would simple remain armed and operating.....!???

As I am a girl I was a little bit sceptic to leave my car with a stranger that meet me at Gatwick but everything was ok. So I would recommend it to everybody. They were there in 20 minutes on departures and on arrivals with no problems and the mileage on the clock was saying that only 20 miles were made (10 miles to the yard and another 10 back to the airport). In the freezing cold, I was waiting with my family over 6 hours, to have my car returned, the number of calls made and number of stories told by Ace Parking is shocking, so shocking that when my car finally returned without even a bit of snow visible was very suspicious. I found there service very unprofessional, incorrect information was always told, like your car is waiting outside, your car will be there in 10mins, there is a big difference between 10mins and 6 hours. I found this review not helpful because the date noted when the review was written I believe justified the snow and personal remember how bad the snow was over this period, for anyone to even suggest this snow would not cause delays to a parking company it quite frankly mad and on this basis can not accept this review or author as credible and in no way can consider using this review as a resource when accessing Ace parking as a credible company.

Service by ACE was perfect - efficient, friendly and excellent value. Vastly easier than using car parks and buses. We had a problem with a bag being delayed when we got back from Gatwick but no complaints from ACE. The chap bringing the car back had heated the car up and even switched on both seat heaters (a nice surprise when getting back to frosty weather!). Will definitely use ACE again and recommend to anyone I know going to Gatwick. (read more)

Left my car with ACE meet and greet parking and left it with them thinking every was ok! 2nd day into my holiday had a call saying my car had been destroyed in a fire much to my horror this now had totally messed up the holiday i was very worried about what was going on while i was away! It has taken me back reading this review and felt I had to comment. It is true, we(ACE PARKING) have had a fire of which some cars have been destroyed, although the fire investigation has yet to finalize their report they have indicated the most lightly cause of the accident was faulty wiring in one of the parked cars and within 20 minutes had spread to other cars making this fire an uncontrollable event without the intervention of the fire services. It is not true that we do not have insurance, Ace parkings insurance policy include a full road risk, public liability and combined commercial liability policy, further more ACE car parks support fire prevention approved certificates which are annual inspected and signed off.
<br/>Upon completion of the fire investigation report if the fire is proven to be negligence on Ace parking and its employees then our insurance policy WILL compensate all customers for their loss however as instructed by our solicitors all vehicles must be released to the respective owners and insurance's until liability can be proven, all vehicles involved must claim through their own insurance policy and liaison with ace parking and our insurance broker until liability can be identified, I am sure any person reading this reply from ace parking will understand why this procedure must apply. What also has not been commented on is all affected parties were met personally by ACE management, transport was arranged and paid for by Ace and refunds have been processed. I do feel in this difficult situation Ace parking is just as much of a victim as all affected parties regarding this incident and hope anyone reading this review will understand a fire can happen to anyone at any time.

We waited 45 minutes to get our car back last Wednesday morning. Seemingly this was due to the dreaded 'road works' (so why no ask for a call 40 or 30 minutes befor arrival rather than 20?) and it arrived looking like every bird with 20 miles had spent the last two weeks using it as a toilet! Most disappointing after a long flight.

The initial collection at Gatwick was great and the booking process very smooth and user friendly. Shame to end on a low...............

Called the number as directed, they were there waiting for us in the designated spot with the car warmed up for us and our 3 children. Having read several poor reviews on this site, I almost cancelled my booking with ACE. However, having contacted the company, I was referred to another site which contained MANY more reviews, showing a MUCH better average score.
I'm glad that I stayed with ACE, because the service I received was faultless - very short waits at both ends of my trip, courteous drivers and 28 miles on the clock (which is at the top end of what I was told to expect).

I booked with Ace after the other operator that I was looking at suddenly upped their prices for 2 weeks parking by 50%.

The ACE price was right (actually only a fiver more than the previous off-site, minibus transfer company I used to park with at Gatwick), but the review here had me very worried.

As it turned out I had nothing to be worried about.

We travelled on 13th September. On trying to ring Ace Meet and Greet 20 minutes before arriving at Gatwick we found that we were unable to contact them. The number was unobtainable. We kept trying until we reached Gatwick, at which point I was starting to get really stressed. Luckily there was a representative from Ace at the airport. Not a good start to the holiday. I parked with ace parking in August, we had a problem, I have an old SAAB and unfortunately when I rang for my car ace could not get the car started, I was kept informed and ace took my keys to halfords for them to replace the batteries in the alarm fob and the car was delivered back to me some time later, I feel this experience has prompted me to right a review that congratulates ace parking on a service that went over and above what I expected. I would recommend this company.

Our return flight was delayed about an hour, which meant by the time we got to the meeting point it was 12.30am. The driver kept hold of the car keys and immediately demanded £10 cash as it was after midnight! Simply didnt work.
Waited 20 mins longer than should have done on the drop off, and then 40 minutes for the collection as the driver went to the wrong terminal despite us ringing and confirming which terminal as instructed.
The driver blamed the error on being so busy!
we could have parked at the long stay and saved some money and it would have also been quicker

ACE Parking Gatwick. Delay on collection of car and we nearly missed the check-in closing. We waited half an hour at North Terminal having phoned twenty minutes before arrival.Driver not interested or apologetic.

<br/>Ace parking feel this review is very unfair and demonstrates how a few people clearly do not live on the same planet as us normal people. This complaint was made on this review site on the 22/04/2010 from a return made on the 21/04, I am sure most of us are aware from the 16/04 until the 20/04 all UK airports where closed due to a natural disaster(a Volcanic eruption)and as a result has caused massive disruption to the traveling community, its not "rocket science" to realize that all airport companies that operate parking will simple not be able to park cars in an organized time and date order as all the flights had been canceled and as so from the 20/04 22:00 we have had no idea if and when our 600 customers are returning and in what order, we have simple done the best we can in this difficult situation and just to point out to this very unreasonable customer that the lateness in returning his car was a direct result of circumstances out of ace parking control, I hope anyone reading this review will realize just how unreasonable this EX ace parking customer really is and how completely unreasonable this review is considering the wider situation within the UK airports.

Please avoid this firm as my experience was beyond poor. They basically don't keep to what the service that they apparently offer. I was kept waiting nearly 20 minutes for them to pick the car up and there is no parking or waiting at Gatwick, you can get a camera ticket for waiting. On my return I had to wait nearly an hour from the moment I called and they state a 15-20 minute waiting time for my car. I parked my car with ACE and the service was impecable , not only were they waiting to collect my car they were very polite too.
I found the service amazingly simple as i had not used them before. I like the way when you return the car is waiting there with a driver with the engine running and the heater on!!
I was in such a hurry as my one year old daughter was ill and we wanted to get to hospital asap!!
