2 failed expansion vessels in 4 years!

Each time the boiler needs to be removed from the wall, therefore 4 hours work for 2 men.

    Also a very noisy operation.

I've had one for 5 years, Generally it's good, all i have done is replace a couple of temp sensors, now ready for a diaphram kit, you can usually tell when there ready for replacing when they leak around the microswitch pins and stick causing a lot of the problems with the Hot water. Easy to fit, I fitted the back plate and the water pipes, then gas fitter fitted the gas pipe, saved a fortune on installation.

This Baxi Combi 105e never works reliably , always requires expensive repairs, everytime it is used the shower provides periods of cold water - unasked. Speaking from 50 or more years of experience - this is the worst system we have ever had.
    Good for plumbers!

I have had the Baxi 105E for over 6 years now and have never had so much as a hint of an issue with it. The boiler is used continually throughout the day and has been excellent. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone

fitted 70 to 80 baxi 105e and only been back to 4 of them. i do think it comes down to the instalation. there are many factors that effect the performance of a boiler although there are rogue boilers out there. The instalation is easy and sevicing straight forward. The cost of the parts compared to some boilers isnt bad

No matter which boiler anyone selects, some would have a bad experience with a boiler. As a service engineer I find the Baxi Combi 105's easy to work on and the parts cheaper than most other boilers. Granted diaphragms will require replacing periodically and the odd pcb's are required, but other than that are generally trouble free.

I found the Baxi Combi 105e is good value for money and works sufficiently if fitted to the system it is designed for.

You have to remember that when you purchase a boiler that the size of the system it is to be used for and the output of the boiler is the right one for your system as it is easy to criticise but if the technical specifications have been adhered to and the system fitted correctly you should have no more of a problem with the baxi 105e as to any other boiler.

    You can have the ...

Just because the man fitted the boiler, it doesnt mean he understands it.

The Baxi Combi 105e is easy to service and has been very reliable.
Now heading for its 4th year of use it has been trouble free.
My service engineer takes half a day to service my boiler and it shows. Most engineers have completed the annual inspection in an hour.

The Baxi Combi 105e boiler is easy to operate and has good flow rates. It is a good value, low maintenance boiler. I have installed several prior to the 2006 cut off and have only had one breakdown.

The Baxi Combi 105e boiler was recomended as a realy good boiler by the supplier. In the six years we have had it it has caused us no end of trouble and repairs, thank god we had a maintainence contract with the installer. Now we have been told that the expansion vessels or tank will not be covered in the boiler maintanance and we will have to pay extra if we need another one of these fitted.

I am sick of the site of it and has put me off buying anything else to do with baxi. Now we are having ...

My Baxi Combi 105e was great for 1st year, then second year the diaphram went faulty meaning no hot water, o.k. I accept things need replacing sometmes. This cost us £170.
Now the water pressure is constantly too high, going up to 3. We called our plumber out ( who fit it, and recommended it !! ) he said it needed an expansion vessell so we have just had that replaced at a cost of £180.
2 days later the pressure was up again. Problem not fixed.
The plumber has been back 4 times a ...

Having read the reviews by other owners of the Baxi 105E I realise that I am experiencing identical problems with my 3 year old boiler.
Constant flame failure is my main problem and is causing British Gas engineers a problem to identify the cause.
I think review a Worcester and make a wiser choice.

I'm glad I've read other comments here as I thought I must be the only unlucky one!. Had the boiler about 3 years - gas consumption increased by 25% compared to old cylinder system. The last 12 months has been a nightmare. CH works intermittently for about 2-4 months and then falls over again- had different engineers out 5 times and each seem to be scratching their heads. Costing me a small fortune.

I seriously advice you DONT BUY a Baxi Combi 105e. Baxi customer support is poor and Baxi parts overpriced i think! To me the reason my plumber recommended this Boiler is because it is designed for EASY FITTING! It has a neat back plate design and basically the plumber plumbs in the back plate and just slots on the housing/gubbins. SIMPLE for him/ her but YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT 24/7/ !!! Recommendation: DONT BUY IT ... BUY GERMAN OR ITALIAN INSTEAD!
