Never buy from Dune Shoes, ever! So they post my item (no dispatch email received - poor), but the courier can’t find my address (main road, you literally can’t miss it, unless you don’t even try looking) so rather than just call me, they decide to send the item back as a ‘return’ as if I hadn’t wanted them. Bought a pair of shoes, worn for an hour or so, which due to the way they are stitched caused massive blisters and bleeding. An obvious design fault - yet all they could offer is an exchange! A pair purchased in the summer left rust marks on the skin. (read more)

I have had two shoes from Dune where the heel has come away on a night out. I have just taken them back to the shop, yes they are a year old, but it is the second time I have worn them. You can tell they have been hardly worn by the wear rate on the heels. The price was still on the bottom and I had proof of purchase on my bank statement. If this review was about the products I'd be giving full marks. I buy a lot of Dune shoes as I think they tick all the boxes and in particular great style and great value for money. The website delivery experience lets this brand down though and I would recommend potential customers to buy from a store. Long story short, placed order on the 22nd June online, subsequently found shoes cheaper elsewhere and cancelled on the Monday. Was told they had already been sent, OK not a problem, they sent request to courier to return to sender, which they did on the 28th. Rang on the 1st to be told I'd have to wait, emailed on the 2nd and was told to wait a further 5 working days! Bought shoes online and tracked order, saw that the courier Dune used, Hermes, had delivered and had a customer signature on the Saturday lunch time, needless to say I was perplexed as I certainly had not received or signed for the package. I was cautious before purchasing pair of simple flats after reading some bad reviews. Now I join the unhappy customers group. After long search between the shelves crowded with smelly of fabric, plastic shoes, I have found a leather pair of flats from Dune. On sale, even better. Happily I did not pay the 60 gbp rpi! I placed an order with Dune online on 9th December. Lo and Behold my boots have still not arrived and I have had no luck so far getting Dune to speak to their courier. No delivery attempt has even been made, yet they've taken the money out my account. I tried to contact the Courier myself today but they wouldn't talk to me because I'm not their customer. I purchased as navy clutch bag from Dune Brent Cross - after looking everywhere for a navy bag. The assistant said she would give me a new one from the back which she did. She asked if I wanted my receipt in the bag and that was all.On returning home and examining the bag I notice that the grain in the leather was patchy - smooth in some places and grained in others. I went in the your store in the Glades Bromley on Tursday 6th July , and bought some shoes in the sale. I would steer clear of buying any shoes from the Dune Group my dune sandals on the first day of wearing them resulted in the sole peeling off after 2 hours! My Bertie shoes also from the Dune group were also poorly made the stitching came undone all around the ankle strap! My flat Dune pumps had a decorative flower on them that came off needless to say my friend has had similar problems with hers. My pair of Dune black calf boots arrived 29th Feb 2012. Having worn the boots once, the heel on the left boot felt as if it were bending inwards so on 5th March during a rare day off, I drove 20 minutes to House of Fraser in High Wycombe to get a replacement pair. Guys, I seriously don't understand the your reviews. I do not work for dune or am affiliated with them in anyway. I have worn leather shoes all my life, often owning only one pair at a time. I bought a pair of Dune shoes two years ago and have worn them continuously everyday since. I've had to re-sole them twice because of the extremely heavy wear, but they have never torn or come apart. i bought a pair of Dune boots for my daughter from Debenhams in Leicester. The service i received from staff was completely appalling, they have no idea what customer service is or how to achieve it. In the sale i paid £30 for a £50 pair of boots for my daughter. In one week the heel had completely worn down, i took them back to the shops and requested an exchange. The shoes I received had already been worn and when I sent them back for a refund (because they did not fit) they said I had worn them outside and had caused this damage and would not refund. So now i'm stuck with second hand shoes that don't fit me. The customer service from this retailer was awful. Ordered items did not arrive and no explanation was given. Phoned several times and have e-mailed three times (each time I have received an automated response with a promise of a return e-mail) and have received no reply to any of these. Yesterday i bought a pair of £75 peep toe wedges only to discover this AM that one peep toe whole is slightly larger than the other one and the stiching around the wedge is dissimilar. I tried to get them exchanged at lunch time but no luck as they have been worn which is understandable. I recently spent £100 on a lovely pair of flat boots from Dune (the design was called MOTIF), but after 3 weeks of wear the sole completely vanished from the left heel. I took them back and they replaced them with a new pair, however the same thing happened again only this time with both heels.

I bought 3 days ago Beauty Black Boots.
There is a default in the way the boots are designed or produced meaning the zipper (that is in that model at the back) presses very hard the feet just above the ancle which causes increadible pain while walking. Wearing sock and trousers doesnt help, the zipper presses equally strong causing a pain.

I have just recently brought a Taupe Leather Pair of Mid heels from Dune, only to find after 4 hours of wear that the colour of the shoe has faded and when the shoe is rubbed the "paint" actually comes off on your fingers! I think its appauling that you pay high end prices for shoes from a respected shoe retailer and get such bad quality! I've always admired Dune shoes and own a few pairs and never had this problem! I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Dune. I've loved their shoes for quite a long time, but I must admit the quality has gone down the drain and the customer service is awful!!
I was given a pair of flat boots for my birthday costing £160 which I really loved, however, after a month I noticed that the rubber bit on the bottom of one heel had completely come off and the part underneath had begun to wear away.

Dune mens leisure shoes are complete rubbish. They are some of the few shoes that fit me so bought 5 pairs over the summer. One pair fell apart after 4 or 5 wears. Another pair that I've been wearing started to look worn out after a similar number of wears. I haven't dared wear the others, at least not until the dry weather returns!

Reading the reviews it seems that Dune do not give a damn about customer service. I bought a pair of diamonte sandles which began to unravel before I even wore them. The shoes got sent to head officE for product inspection. They were swiftly returned to me saying that they could find no manufacturing fault. My mum had a pair of Dune boots years ago, and they were great and lasted forever, so when I spotted a £120 pair of flat biker style boots, I thought it was a good choice, as I needed something reasonably hard wearing to wear to work.
4 weeks later, and the sole is coming away at the toe, so I will be taking them back.
They are definitely NOT the quality they used to be, (perhaps using a cheaper manufacturer due to the recession?), and I certainly wouldn't recommend them. (read more)

Dune products have really gone downhill in recent times. Is it possible they are using a cheaper manufacturer but still charging the same (fairly high) prices? I've bought 2 items recently, boots that decorative bits started to fall off with weeks of wear and a bag that I'd had longer but only used a handful of times and the buckle came off too.

Bought a pair of five inch sandals in gold. After wearing these three times a strap on both shoes has detached. I paid '175 for them so am going to bring them back as they are clearly faulty. Everything else looks perfect on the shoes which shoes they clearly were not abused in any way. Having wore my sandals for only 1 occasion a wedding a took them back to the shop because they were faulty due to to the wooden sole coming apart.
They sent them back to head office i recieved the shoes back a week later with a rude letter saying it was due to abrasive wear!!!!
Dune shoes are a utter rip off and are not that well made i paid £60 for 1 wear out of my sandals i personally think that is unacceptable. (read more)

I recently bought a black pair of Shaggy Fringe detail flat sandals from Dune.
After having worn them only 4 times the heel has started to disintegrate as it has collapsed and is being scuffed along the ground as I walk. Clearly this is a design flaw which I did not pay £45 for. (Incidentally the ankle tie does hold in a bow either and drags along the ground " this is a minor design flaw which I was prepared to overlook however I cant ignore the product falling apart)

Bought a pair of aviato boots at a cost of £100, 2 hours later I noticed that the decorative fasteners had come off. I had only been sitting on the train and so I assumed I would get a refund- I didn't want them replacing as it would inevitably happen again.
They refused to refund me and were only willing to replace the broken fasteners

After reading this review I will be sending them to head office - let's see what they think since I have had them for a much shorter time.
