I would NEVER buy from Dune again. I bought boots and the marerial came off after the first time I wore them. The manager refused to offer a refund and was extremely rude and patronising to me. What a waste of £115!!!! (read more)

I placed an order with Dune online on 9th December. Lo and Behold my boots have still not arrived and I have had no luck so far getting Dune to speak to their courier. No delivery attempt has even been made, yet they've taken the money out my account. I tried to contact the Courier myself today but they wouldn't talk to me because I'm not their customer. So also, who knows where my boots are, let alone if and when they will turn up. Will never buy from Dune online again. (read more)

i "purchased" a pair set of shoes from DUNE , after a week i called them to enquire where shoes , were , i was told they had been delivered....on informing them that i had not recieved them and my husband was at home at so timed delivery why did the delivery guy not buzz our flat? after a few calls of them "checking" they came back and said i should take the issue up with the bank...i wont explain how rude and abrupt the customer service was ,,but it was bad.... my issues were 1. i live... I purchased as navy clutch bag from Dune Brent Cross - after looking everywhere for a navy bag. The assistant said she would give me a new one from the back which she did. She asked if I wanted my receipt in the bag and that was all.On returning home and examining the bag I notice that the grain in the leather was patchy - smooth in some places and grained in others. I went in the your store in the Glades Bromley on Tursday 6th July , and bought some shoes in the sale. The assistant manager served me and tried to explain to me the return policy which was not very clear to me so I asked her to explain again what the policy was, she was a bit shirty and said you can bring them back within 14 days. I would steer clear of buying any shoes from the Dune Group my dune sandals on the first day of wearing them resulted in the sole peeling off after 2 hours! My Bertie shoes also from the Dune group were also poorly made the stitching came undone all around the ankle strap! My flat Dune pumps had a decorative flower on them that came off needless to say my friend has had similar problems with hers. My pair of Dune black calf boots arrived 29th Feb 2012. Having worn the boots once, the heel on the left boot felt as if it were bending inwards so on 5th March during a rare day off, I drove 20 minutes to House of Fraser in High Wycombe to get a replacement pair. I arrived at the Dune concession at 14.05. The 1st assistant couldn't help. the 2nd assistant wouldn't help. The duty manager clearly didn't want to help. I had a pair of shoes bought for me from Dune for Christmas; they were the wrong size so I tried to return them. They refused to give me a refund or credit note despite having the receipt and I had to exchange the shoes within 2 weeks of them being bought! They did not have the shoes I wanted to return in my size and I was not allowed to return to them to another retailer of Dune e.g House of Fraser as they had been bought in a Dune shop. Guys, I seriously don't understand the your reviews. I do not work for dune or am affiliated with them in anyway. I have worn leather shoes all my life, often owning only one pair at a time. I bought a pair of Dune shoes two years ago and have worn them continuously everyday since. I've had to re-sole them twice because of the extremely heavy wear, but they have never torn or come apart. “Dune Boots”

i bought a pair of Dune boots for my daughter from Debenhams in Leicester. The service i received from staff was completely appalling, they have no idea what customer service is or how to achieve it. In the sale i paid £30 for a £50 pair of boots for my daughter. In one week the heel had completely worn down, i took them back to the shops and requested an exchange. I was told that they do have a new pair of boots in stock but they wouldn't let me have then as they said that the boots... (read more)
“Awful company, awful product”

The shoes I received had already been worn and when I sent them back for a refund (because they did not fit) they said I had worn them outside and had caused this damage and would not refund. So now i'm stuck with second hand shoes that don't fit me. Very rude customer service both on the phone and especially in store at the Birmingham branch where you'll find the most snobby, judgemental arrogant manager in the city. (read more)

The customer service from this retailer was awful. Ordered items did not arrive and no explanation was given. Phoned several times and have e-mailed three times (each time I have received an automated response with a promise of a return e-mail) and have received no reply to any of these. Yesterday i bought a pair of £75 peep toe wedges only to discover this AM that one peep toe whole is slightly larger than the other one and the stiching around the wedge is dissimilar. I tried to get them exchanged at lunch time but no luck as they have been worn which is understandable. While i appreciate they aren't Trickers of Jermyn Street, some sort of a compromise or concessions would have been great. Appaling quality at a high price. I recently spent £100 on a lovely pair of flat boots from Dune (the design was called MOTIF), but after 3 weeks of wear the sole completely vanished from the left heel. I took them back and they replaced them with a new pair, however the same thing happened again only this time with both heels.
Once again I took them back, but this time the sales woman said that as they had been worn there was nothing they could do except offer to re-heel them. After explaining customer rights law to her...

You should also avoid Dune handbags. I have bought 3, one being a gift and every one of them had faults. One of them was a gift and, fortunately, I had kept the receipt and it was exchanged.
The other 2 were for myself and I didn't keep receipts. The first was bought for work and in no time the stitching on the handles was loose and the lining torn. The most recent was the D Lollita tote at £80 and the tassle had fallen off after two uses. I spoke to the staff at the Braehead store just to bring it to their attention as I didn't have the receipt.........but the normally (overly) chatty staff suddenly had nothing to say............

I bought 3 days ago Beauty Black Boots.
There is a default in the way the boots are designed or produced meaning the zipper (that is in that model at the back) presses very hard the feet just above the ancle which causes increadible pain while walking. Wearing sock and trousers doesnt help, the zipper presses equally strong causing a pain.
I went to the shope to return them but I was informed that because I have worn them they cant do much ...

I have just recently brought a Taupe Leather Pair of Mid heels from Dune, only to find after 4 hours of wear that the colour of the shoe has faded and when the shoe is rubbed the "paint" actually comes off on your fingers! I think its appauling that you pay high end prices for shoes from a respected shoe retailer and get such bad quality! I've always admired Dune shoes and own a few pairs and never had this problem! I am going to take them back to the shop I got them from!

i really wish i had read this review earlier...as i ordered a pair of shoes with a matching purse....they sent me shoes,without the purse,made a formal complain they promised to send me the purse...after 4wks,no purse,then then promise a refund...still 3weeks after no refund....PLS AVOID DUNE SHOES AS MUCH AS U CAN....THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!!

I took them back but they did what I have later learned is their usual thing - they say they have to send them back to head office to get them looked at by Quality Control only to be told later that there was nothing wrong with them. It turns out that this is their usual response to faulty shoes. I had so much hassle with them that in the end I wrote to their Chief Executive who had the common sense to deal with the problem professionally. I got a refund. I have not bought shoes from them since as when I spend £100+ on a pair of shoes I expect good customer service, at the very least. I cant remember the Chief Execs name, but I found it by googling. Good luck, but be prepared for a long battle but remember - YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER AND YOU DESERVE YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOUR SHOES ARE FAULTY. I hope this helps.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Dune. I've loved their shoes for quite a long time, but I must admit the quality has gone down the drain and the customer service is awful!!
I was given a pair of flat boots for my birthday costing £160 which I really loved, however, after a month I noticed that the rubber bit on the bottom of one heel had completely come off and the part underneath had begun to wear away.
I took them to a shoe repair place and they said they couldn't mend them...

Dune mens leisure shoes are complete rubbish. They are some of the few shoes that fit me so bought 5 pairs over the summer. One pair fell apart after 4 or 5 wears. Another pair that I've been wearing started to look worn out after a similar number of wears. I haven't dared wear the others, at least not until the dry weather returns!

Reading the reviews it seems that Dune do not give a damn about customer service. I bought a pair of diamonte sandles which began to unravel before I even wore them. The shoes got sent to head officE for product inspection. They were swiftly returned to me saying that they could find no manufacturing fault. I have now put a claim in with the small claims court - which seems the only way to get my money back. DO NOT BUY THEIR SHOES!!!!!! (read more)

When they came they were totally different colour wise to the website picture.
So I sent them back. I was told before I bought them I could return them to a store and after a wasted journey to a store to be told they don't take back 'sale' items ( I had no idea they were 'sale')

My mum had a pair of Dune boots years ago, and they were great and lasted forever, so when I spotted a £120 pair of flat biker style boots, I thought it was a good choice, as I needed something reasonably hard wearing to wear to work.
4 weeks later, and the sole is coming away at the toe, so I will be taking them back.
They are definitely NOT the quality they used to be, (perhaps using a cheaper manufacturer due to the recession?), and I certainly wouldn't recommend them.

Dune products have really gone downhill in recent times. Is it possible they are using a cheaper manufacturer but still charging the same (fairly high) prices? I've bought 2 items recently, boots that decorative bits started to fall off with weeks of wear and a bag that I'd had longer but only used a handful of times and the buckle came off too.
Dune customer 'services' attitude seems to be "you bought it - tough luck". Whatsmore, if you buy anything online you have to send any returns at...

I bought a pair of patent "leather" shoes from them in mid-August, took them on holiday where I wore them indoors for no more than 3 evenings before I noticed the patent leather was peeling off one toe. I took them back no more than 3 weeks after I'd bought them, with no other signs of wear, they sent them to quality control who said that it wasn't a manufacturing fault so they couldn't refund me. Bought a pair of five inch sandals in gold. After wearing these three times a strap on both shoes has detached. I paid '175 for them so am going to bring them back as they are clearly faulty. Everything else looks perfect on the shoes which shoes they clearly were not abused in any way. Will never buy from Dune Shoes again as this is my second experience of poor quality at extortionate prices. (read more)

Having wore my sandals for only 1 occasion a wedding a took them back to the shop because they were faulty due to to the wooden sole coming apart.
They sent them back to head office i recieved the shoes back a week later with a rude letter saying it was due to abrasive wear!!!!
Dune shoes are a utter rip off and are not that well made i paid £60 for 1 wear out of my sandals i personally think that is unacceptable.

Dune Shoes = an absolute load of crap. bought shoes in the sale, after wearing them once to a wedding the strap fell off. took it back as they were inevitably faulty, and they said they couldn't do anything about it as no refunds of exchanges are given on sale item. - DONT SELL A LOAD OF JUNK THEN RIGHT?!
thats probably why they dont issue exchnages or refunds - they make you think the shoes are like gold in the shop, and when you take them home, you realise the worthlessness they actually are.

I recently bought a black pair of Shaggy Fringe detail flat sandals from Dune.
After having worn them only 4 times the heel has started to disintegrate as it has collapsed and is being scuffed along the ground as I walk. Clearly this is a design flaw which I did not pay £45 for. (Incidentally the ankle tie does hold in a bow either and drags along the ground " this is a minor design flaw which I was prepared to overlook however I cant ignore the product falling apart)

Bought a pair of aviato boots at a cost of £100, 2 hours later I noticed that the decorative fasteners had come off. I had only been sitting on the train and so I assumed I would get a refund- I didn't want them replacing as it would inevitably happen again.
They refused to refund me and were only willing to replace the broken fasteners

I bought a pair of limited edition mary jane shoes from Dune in lovely grey and brown textile/patent leather mix and 7 days later they have come apart. After reading this review I will be sending them to head office - let's see what they think since I have had them for a much shorter time. I bought my Dune shoes to wear for my brothers wedding and must admit was impressed with the comfort and fit. They did not rub at all and could be worn all evening without my feet starting to hurt.
However, they were not the cheapest shoes in the world, though I am sure they aren't the most expensive either.
In my opinion it depends on what you are looking for, if you just want a pair of everyday fashion shoes maybe they are not the shoes for you, but if you are looking for a special pair...

if you did not look at the bag that was brand new out of the packaging after being asked to by the assistant then you are to blame.
Leather is a natural material and has different grains in different areas. THIS IS NOT A FAULT.
10% is what your entitled to for good will gesture which technically they do not have to give.
Transfers generally cant be made between store to store as there is a high cost, if you cant go to Watford for the bag the next morning you obviously didnt want the bag that much
