Good Points: Have some quite nice properties, some quite nice agents to deal with.

Bad Points: Really bad service, neglectful, everything else.

General comments: Our first problem with Thomas George happened before we had even moved in. They threatened to leave us homeless after telling us the inventory had not been completed and we would not be able to move in until it had. I had phoned them several times before, asking them to have the inventory sorted in time. A day before moving in and a nervous breakdown later, I was told the inventory had already been done despite being told it was still due.The flat we moved into was in a nice area and was quite spacious, with parking and everything we had been looking for. However, it wasn't up to the standard we had been viewing with other agencies, but at a slightly reduced rent, we didn't mind.Once we had moved in, we noticed some of the furniture we had been promised was missing/ broken, but managed to replace it.A few months after moving in, we realised the windows were steamy and the flat felt damp. A thick, black mould began growing across the ceiling, especially in the bedroom. We called Thomas George and they did not sound surprised. They have never denied knowing about the mould before we moved in, but failed to tell us about it before we moved in.They didn't want to send someone round to see it, but told us we could clean the mould off and buy a spray from a DIY store (not our obligation!). We told them this was not good enough, the mould was too extensive. This went on for a year and Thomas George did nothing. They didn't return my calls and often failed to contact the landlord. On one occasion, they sent someone to see the mould and he didn't even need to look through the flat to tell us the windows needed replacing as the seals were broken. I began to notice the window frames had rotten and the window panes could fall out. I told Thomas George and again, they did nothing. You can guess where this is going. We have had numerous problems with our flat, I wouldn't bore you with the details, but Thomas George have done nothing to fix it (apart from one time I forced them to send someone for a leak). They do not return phone calls, some of their agents are very rude and they never do what they say they will. Basically, you may like the property, but expect to have literally no support from Thomas George throughout your stay. You must decide if this is worth it. For me, I am still unsure.

When the stove in our home broke in Dec 07 it took 3 months and several calls to finally get a replacement. When I reported items not working or broken it took at least more than one phone call till action was taken. In the end I got so furious that my Fianc had to deal with Thomas George estate agents. The French door handles were just decoration, a little bolt was trying to keep them shut. Which meant extra heating in the winter as we had serious draft issues, very noisy too. My advice if yo ...

Unless you really like the property. Do not use this agency. Nobody smiles when you meet them!

When you are a landlord you are directed to "customer service". When you are letting a property the people they get to help you aren't good enough. When you pay money to this firm to rent a property, you are not paying for service, they don't treat you like a customer.
