I love my DMC-FZ50K. I have had it for about a year. I am still learning all of its functions. There are two things is do not like. One is that there are no reviews that talk about the auto focus when on video mode. There isn't any. It is manual focus only when recording video. The other problem I have is with the viewfinder. It is not clear enough to get a really sharp clear picture in video or still picture mode. I find myself relying on the auto-focus more and more for still pictures and out of focus in video mode.

I have this camera for about a year now. I really like it. It has helped me to move one step up in digital photograph since it can work fully manual. It might be a bit bulky but it is light and performs well in a great variety of shots. Consider that it does as well as many pre-professional cameras without needing to change the lenses or to pay for them. Panasonic realized that it had done too much of a great job so it moved to the interchangeable lenses which are better business, same results.

Have seen other reviews commenting on sensor noise which is only over ISO 400, i haven't seen it unless you want to take pictures in the dark and print them as big as a bed sheet take no notice of this. I have an SLR and a collection of lenses that are rarely used anymore and cost me several times the price of this camera.
Again the video quality is way ahead of anything i have seen from a stills camera.
