yes it us, we supply this for £123, we have sold over 700 of them over the years and had minimal trouble with complaints. Yes you will hear the fan, but is it noisy, no not really, its far less noisy than an electric fan blower. Motor began to produce grinding noises after approx 15 months. Replacement motors cost £35 - £40 plus the associated costs if you cannot replace it yourself. Might as well by a new one! I disconnected the motor for a bit of peace.When working it is a good looking fire but packing in not long after the warranty ran out is not good… Read Full Review

Coal effect motor noisy from day one. My Dimplex CHT20 was replaced after a few months but is noisy again a few months later. I havent found one on the internet yet . What is the price of silence?… Read Full Review

I was genuinely surprised at the quality of the Dimplex CHT20 for the money.
I have found that some flame effects on electric fires can be irritatingly noisy, but this one is virtually silent in operation, and quite impressive! I am an engineer, and having had a good look at the fire, I am very impressed with the overall design. The fan heater in the top canopy also works well.
This fire puts some others at the same price to shame.
