I've had this dryer for 18 months. Things started to go wrong after 12 months! We've replaced a few parts and even the water container split! After listenening to what can only be described as a "full on cement mixer" it finally gave up...and so did I. It's gone to the dump today!!

On reading various reports on this machine i would never have bought this model as it seems prone to faults especially cut-out faults.

I have a 4 year old CTD40 which has only JUST recently been giving trouble. Its actually NOT a particularly bad machine if looked after, however if abused it will give trouble like anything else. Fluff filter should be cleaned after EVERY load, water emptied, condenser cleaned EVERY week and machine not overloaded particularly with large or too wet items. If airflow is restricted by fluff or overloading, this will cause the thermistors to fail and plastic fan to melt, go out of shape and make ho ...

The Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 is the worst dryer I've ever had. Just after the year was up the element had to be replaced. Then the catch on the door. now it makes that much noise that my father can hear it down the bottom of the garden. 50 -60 feet in length!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 saves the water from the clothes and during the current drought cycle in Australia - that is a huge bonus for watering the indoor plants at any time! I do not understand the negative comments that are beneath my review.... as I have not "ever" had ANY problems with my dryer! Excellent 7Kg capacity! Although a very expensive dryer (in Australia) the unit performs beyond my initial expectations. I love the water saving feature and the dryer performs efficiently and rea ...

Okay. I have had this same machine for nearly three years and apart from the thermostat breaking just once it's been really really good. It's had to cope with a baby, a dog and two adults and in all this time I have had only one problem with it. I don't understand these other reviews, perhaps there was a bad batch made, who knows. I found out from talking to the engineer when he fixed the thermo and by reading the Hotpoint maintenance tips, that if you regularly wash through the box filter at th ...

    I like the colour.
The noise can be heard across the road from my house. and now the door catch is not working.
If you feel the need to waste money on this hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 get some ear defenders at the same time.

Won't ever recommend this Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 tumble dryer to anyone. Takes ages to dry & it is so so so noisy: the noise can be heard next door! It has the option to empty water through the top drawer, however, that good point is just nothing compared to the noise!

The drum of our Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 machine seems to have dropped back from the mounting at the front and clothing becomes caught up causing tearing, twisting and soiling by black grease. I have had to throw away several items that have become stained by this black greasy substance.

My Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 is not good at all, I dont think it has worked properly since we bought it, the heater element has just gone and it kept tripping the fuse box.

This Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 was our first ever dryer, and buy did we pick the wrong one!! weve had it for 13 months (1 month past the warrantee ran out!!) then the thermostat went, replaced at a cost of £45, a week later the fan broke down, when i rang the repair man again he laughed and said its better to scrap the thing, but as money was tight i had it repaired instead, it had been getting noisier since i bought it but nothing to the noise it started making a few weeks after this.

In my experience, they don't last more than a year before something going wrong. I'm on my 3rd machine in 2 years, and now my machine is making loud vibrating noises again. Time for a change.

For goodness sake don't buy a Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00. It works well when it does work and is cheap. But this is my second in 4 years - foolishly thought I'd bought a rouge one the first time. Problems again!

I am so glad it's broken and I've got an excuse to replace it! Not happy about the expense though. Takes a long long time to dry clothes. Sheets come out in a completely tight tangle. Noisy. Broke after 4 months!

Will never spend the extra on a trusted brand name again. I have BEKO appliances that we bought as one lot 7 years ago washer, fridge freezer and dishwasher that are still going strong, thanks for nothing Hotpoint, never again will you get a penny of my cash!

As a footnote I have fixed the dryer myself for 11 pounds not the £100 Hotpoint quoted for its engineer!
